So we're linked to this RWB of Marseille.

edit. Ok apparently he's been left/right winger, but has been converted to (R)WB this season and has played very well apparently.

Gist of it seems to be we want this guy for the Club World Cub and have initiated some talks already since Di Marzio goes full force with this one. We'd be valuing him around 22-25M while Marseille asks 30-35M.

Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Bayer Leverkusen join Inter and Bayern in race for Luis Henrique

Tuttomercatoweb reports that Inter are currently unwilling to meet OM’s asking price for the Brazilian, whose value is set between €30m and €35m. Instead, the Biscione would consider offering around €25m, potentially including some add-ons to raise the total package
Good luck with that!

Looks like he uses both of his legs and could probably play on both sides. I trust Marotta

these are the decisions from the club that I cant understand nor forgive.

RWB is not a problem currently. We have more concerning positions

How are we spending that much on a RWB when we dont have a top striker or CCV

Right. We already have a solid starter in Dumfries. We have much bigger needs at striker, midfield, and central CB. Spending 30M on a Darmian replacement feels horribly irresponsible, unless our transfer budget is triple what we expect it to be.

Imo RWB is one of the biggest concerns we have. With Dumfries injured, we only have Darmian who’s on his last legs. With Bastoni, Carlos, Dimarco and Zalweski we do have 4 options on the other side (LCB, LWB). We need one RWB coming summer nummeraticly. Besides that we clearly missing pace and dribbling skills on the wings. I haven’t seen this Henrique guy play, but from the YouTube vids it seems he has pace and dribbling skills.

Anyone who have seen him actually play?

Darmian seemed spent, he doesn't have the stamina to run up&down the flank in RWB position the entire match. He's clearly not getting faster, either.

I was thinking is Luís Henrique better than Amar Dedic? 🤔 How accurate are his crosses? ... Then I check Dedic stats this season and surprise: Dedic joined precisely Marseille!! 😲 This winter, for just €1.5M loan + 10M option to buy!!

Excellent deal TBH.

Yes I agree (with Rotterdam). We currently have three viable options at LWB in Di Marco, Carlos Augusto and Zalewski but only really Dumfries on the right. I mean no-one appreciates Matty Darmian more than me but it's a bit unfair to expect him to perform that demanding role at his age, while Inzaghi seems reluctant to force Bisseck or Pavard to fill in there despite them seemingly being more able to do it.

I'm getting the impression this Luis Henrique is a bit of a jolly, a player who can fill a number of decent roles at a good level. Which can be a useful thing to be. Remember the serious interest in N'Doye from Bologna who also is very hard to pin down as one thing, but is a great asset all the same.

People are mad that we are signing another Maicon to be a competition to Denzel. Its how big clubs operate. Your starter feels cozy and confident and starting to slack? Here's another one like you . Now try to be better!

In all seriousness, we are gonna break even soon, its about time we spend some of that sweet UCL income of recent years.

But we need 2x STR , one absolute quality the other can be rotational, 1 CM to try to bench Mikhy ( TRY!) 1 CB, 1 RWB . This is the minimum

This is my thoughts. Given that we're likely dumping Frattesi and possibly Asllani we'll need a signing or two in MF and our obvious gaping hole at rotation striker. Don't get me wrong this would be a good add but I dont think 30 million is a wise financial decision unless Oaktree are planning to spend 100 million this summer. I really hope I'm wrong but Dumfries has been exceptional this year and I'm wondering if we are going to field offers for him either this summer or next and this kid is his replacement.

We've signed Sušić already to the midfield.

I'm not concerned about buying RWB. That's what we need to do if we wanna compete in all comps. We can sign other players too.

Only concerns for me is if this guy is good enough and doesn't melt down. If he fits in, price is not an issue for me.

The problem here isn’t that we don’t need a good RWB alongside dumfries. If we had a 200M war chest then this makes a lot of sense. But if by the end of august I hear from marotta that we dont have the funds to purchase a striker or CCB or miss out on another Tonali and Bremer by 5 Million, then this is truly unforgivable.

We did the same last summer when we fucking spent 15 million of our budget on a back up goalkeeper

I don't mind spending on quality RWB, because Darmian is done imo. But not on random Brazilian guy. Hard pass

Don't have one.
Don't agree with people saying we don't need to act in rwb position. For me, both darmian and dumfries are rotational options at best if we really want to be a club operating on a high level. In short, we need someone better as a starter.

Haven’t watched him but I like that we’re targeting a RWB. It’s desperately needed as Darmian is pretty clearly finished as an inter-level wingback (and probably has been already for 1-2 seasons). Case in point— Dumfries is injured right now and everyone is rightfully :palm:ing. Zalewski could maybe be backup option there, but he was never meant to be a significant investment and who knows if he stays. Regardless, we need at least 3 options for each wingback spot imo. Just look at this season. We ask a lot of them and they’re dropping like flies as the minutes start to pile-up.

Good news is that rumors say we should have AT LEAST 70mil Euro to work with as of now. Not including additional revenues for CL progress or Scudetto/ Coppa and player sales. I’ll believe it when I see it, but it would be nice to have a summer where we actually splash some significant cash and invest in rejuvenating the squad. We haven’t had that since 18-19 and it’s long overdue.

The thing is we want to go for Castro who’s 40 Million rather than a sesko or ekitike for 15 Million more.

If we didnt spend 15 Million on a back up keeper or 30 on a back up rwb. We would have the momey

I have a feeling it doesn't work like that.

I feel we are not going for bigger priced players because they usually command also more salary so the overall cost of a player becomes really high (gross salary + annual amortization cost).

I really don't think we're looking to spend 25m, let alone 30m, on a RWB backup role.

Benatia, the Marseille transfer director, was reportedly at San Siro last night, so it's pretty clear who's offering and trying to force this transfer.

I haven't seen him play live, but from the highlights on YouTube, imo he doesn't seem like a player who'd command more than 20m.

I also want to mention that Petar Sucic is Oakland's most expensive player acquisition to date at 14m.

I think this is a signing we're making for Inzaghi. Which he fully deserves after being saddled with dogshit every summer he's been here. Dimarco/Zalewski are full on attacking wingbacks and I think Inzaghi wants something similar for the right. Someone who can start occasionally and give us an additional attacker on the right wing late in the game. I think we're doing this because Dumfries will likely be sold next summer and they see this guy as the heir apparent at RWB.
