Seems a little steep, just hope we haven't blown all the transfer monies with a cornucopia of replacements needed. Guess this also spells the end of the Buchanan experiment/ purchase as well. Of course Inter could send Zalewski back and keep Buchanan as a replacement in the wrong position. Stranger things have happened.

As the wing backs position are so important in the system, there is a need for a fifth player as a back up. As Zalewski can play either role he would seem a fit in profile at least, but then again Buchanan can play either too.

Can’t wait to spend the next year going “can’t believe we spaffed 30m on a backup RWB instead of a ST/CCB/CDM” on repeat, just like Martinez and Palacios this year.

The fact he failed as a winger and he had to be converted to a wingback suggests his end product is lacking. Also 29m is a massive sum for a wingback who just has one good season in his career.

Anyway, since he's coming hopefully he will be good. Prove us wrong.

Failed winger turned wingback this season.
End product is lacking? 9 goals and 8 assists as a wingback doesn't sound like lacking end product. After all, we'd be buying a wingback here, not a winger.

What is this 29M, have we offered that much?

Most of this product was in the first half of the season. Since January his is rather poor, last season his stats are also unimpressive.
The rumor is that we offered 24mln+5 in bonuses. This is too much imo

I don't understand the argument that because his 9+8 production is mostly from first part of the season, that proves...what?

Do people here actually read up on the players they comment on?

1. The majority of his goals/assists came from actually playing LW, not RM/RWB.

2. He was moved to RM/RWB, not because he 'failed as a winger', but because there was a tactical change at his club from 4231 with 2 wide wingers to 3421 with 2 narrow AM's/SS behind the forward.

It certainly suggests he's adaptable. Look at what a good player Dan N'Doye has become playing a variety of roles well.

Proves that he was good for a very short period of time and based on that we are ready to splash around 30mln, which is huge overspending imo.
There are plenty examples of players with half or one good season, which were completely fading away after that .

Are you sure it's based on that very short period of time that we're ready to splash around 30M?

After Buchanan, Dalbert, Lazaro and many others, I'm not sure in anything.

I didn't complain about Hakimi because he looked like real deal.
I didn't complain about Dumfries because of the price tag.
But this guy is quite suspicious.

I just do not understand the obsession our team has with fullbacks, how many have we bought in past 15 years?

We all just saw why we’re after him. I’d rather invest in another striker because we are fucking toothless in goal but I’m starting to see what our team is seeing.

To be fair, if we only compare to Darmian, even a mediocre low-cost option from serie A, such as Zerbin or Zortea, would appear to be an upgrade, especially attacking wise.

Perhaps Luis Henrique is the only one available on the market, and we fell for the bait. Still, this is a costly operation.

I also think that Marotta's relationship with Marseille president Pablo Longoria, whom he hired as head scout while at Juve, is crucial in these negotiations.
Perhaps there is something going on in the background with this deal. Like a more lenient installment, or perhaps they will take our deadwood, such as Buchanan, who knows.

Another cheaper solid option from Serie A could have been Del Prato. Florence's Dodo would probably cost same as Luis

This is crucial piece of information telling us that the deal is practically sealed. If he only got a hint like "you need to sign this guy before others, he's the real deal" it might be enough of a favour.

The biggest quality Henrique seems to have is ball carrying - very comfortable on the ball, even dribbling with ease. We need this kind of player to keep possession and someone that can beat his men.

watching his highlights and also with limited knowledge about him, he looks like a poor man Leao but is more versatile as he can also play as WB. We desperately lack that type of players who can carry the ball forward and run at defenders in our squad.
