Doesn't need it's own thread. If anyone warrants a thread, it's Juan, not Lucas

yea I read the same thing. It's very confusing. I read somewhere that this pretend agent was in contact with Sao Paolo's president. Apparently Sao Paolo needs money and their president is trying to sell Lucas.

They also contacted Real and Barca but they were not interested.

Maybe someone who is fluent in italian can help us here

I've read the same thing. The brazilians and their wierd way of owning players is confusing at times. The club owns a portion of Lucas and Lucas' Agent or 'sporting group' owns the other portion (not entirely sure of the percentages).

Apparently the person Branca is meeting is the agent on behalf of the Club. Lucas' father had a little hissy fit that they are entertaining offers without consultation with the other agent. Very strange, but hey Brazil can be a strange place at times.

Regardless of how it works, it would great to see this kid at Inter.

No need to close it me thinks. He has been mentioned since August, and in the past week or so, the rumors are even more serious. The right time to open a thread for him.

Don't be worried, they all have to start somwhere. Adriano came to Inter at around the same age

Your concern about that is absolutely justified, fact is we haven't really covered ourselves with glory in terms of talents...

Thats not entirely correct dynasty. Players like Adriano, Recoba and our captain Zanetti came to Inter at very young ages and there careers really took off after a season or 2.

I can understand concerns, but i wouldn't worry about it. Like i said, all south American players that make there way to europe have to start somewhere.

Yup I agree, but it's been a while since the last time we had a smart signing from South America who actually were unknown till they wear the Inter jersey and became stars.. Alvarez and Coutinho are the last ones I guess, they still have a lot to improve, I still have faith on them.

Of course, you can also name Cambiasso or even Maicon... but I'm more thinking about our current season first, and in our recent history we were just unsuccessful with the kids. Now in the middle of a bad season, a talented but unexperienced lad is about to jump into the cold water and save the titanic, to depict it a bit dramatically. I'm not saying he will fail, but I cannot be sure about this either...at least from a short-term perspective for our season.

Your right about the room to improve. Its not as easy as some people may think to make the move to a league like the Serie A from S.America, especially for young players.

I don't expect the immediate impact from such players either, but i don't think our club was expecting us to be in such a nasty position we are in at the moment. I still think its wise to bring in young players atm and just try to correct our current situation.

he isnt unknown at all. Interisti wanted eden hazard, alexis sanchez... well here is lucas, one of the best prospects in the world. pretty sure this guy would make immediate impact in any team in the world, so he would certainly be able to do that at inter. Also quiet versatile attack with him.

Ok hazard and sanchez are more proven in different leagues but he is worldclass nevertheless.

I would really love to see this guy at Inter but this move doesn't make any sense.

We lack first team material and Lucas can't be an instant impact if he comes to Inter. I think first team starters should be our main goal. Remember how Alvarez wasn't impressing at all until that Lile game we saw a glimpse? we were winning and the team wasn't under that much stress so when Alvarez came in he was relaxed and played better than usual. We need to buy starters, players who can have an instant impact and then think about youngsters. All our games this season we've been under stress, we had no comfortable wins, we need that!

Players like Coutinho, Alvarez, Obi would do much better if they weren't under stress.

I absolutely hate it to see Lucas go to another team but unless we buy some established players first I don't think this would be a good move. Specially in the middle of the season when he has no time to gel into the team. Rumored Guarin and Montolivo could do it.

We can buy him and keep him in Brazil on loan
