Why would he do that and lose ~€20m in compensation?! He still has a contract, longer than should. Sacking him would be management admitting extending his contract was a mistake in the 1st place.

everything must be seen in the right perspective: a single bad signing can cost us as much if not more. dalbert is a perfect example of this.

so it's a lot of money, no doubt about it, but worth it if it's the right choice. which i'm not saying it is, but it can make sense.

Cagliari - Inter 2-[1]
Fiorentina - Inter 3-[3] (Yes they're a weaker side that almost got relegated)
Inter - Bologna [0]-1
Torino - Inter 1-[0]
Inter - Sassuolo [0]-0
Chievo - Inter 1-[1]
Inter - Parma [0]-1

Sassuolo - Inter 1-[0]

Total: 25 points dropped. We could have at least got 5-9 of those points no?

Spalletti isn't as bad as people make him out to be. He has his flaws, mainly:
-Lack of balls which costed us the CL exit, but anyone thinking that 2nd place was expected from Inter is delusional.
-Doesn't trust youngsters
-Isn't that great at managing locker room issues.

But all the other coaches not named Klopp, Guardiola, Pochettino, Ancelotti also has their flaws.

Conte maybe is a slight upgrade, but the difference between the two is definitely not worth the figures being thrown in the medias. I would rather we invest that money into a solid player and let him finish his contract.

Lets compare our selfes with the only club that went through even more shit then we did in the last two years that was short before bankruptcy and that was taken over by a vulture fund last summer. Then lets circle jerk for beating them by the tiniest fucken margin.

The fact that milan was in striking distance of us on the last matchday is a fucken disgrace! Give credit for what? For achiving the absolute minimum that was requested of him or give credit for getting beaten by fucken atalanta? You are using exactly the same way to sum up the season i.e. use the total number of point lost <=> total number of points gain. You also use ranking of Lazio to claim "utterly shit". Why can't I use the same way (i.e. use the final result) to cut some slack for Spalletti?

Scan down to the beginning of this thread, you will see, most of us didn't expect a winner. But a serious coach tidying up the crap for a long time and making path to a top coach. In two years time, Spalletti has given two CL tickets, which worth 100m+. A decent run in CL. He hasn't done great things but hasn't failed the minimum requirements either.

Let me remind our horrendous situation two years ago. Our coach options were De Boer. Vecchi. Pioli. Marcelino. Conte & Mourinho options are nowhere near here atm if Spalletti didn't move backwards to lay the stepping stones. You blame for losing points left and right, ok, but can you make a similar list for the previous coaches? Did we give him a winning grinding machine to begin with?

The other coaches were shit, there's no comparison. I'm not saying Spalletti is the worst coach in the world nor one of the worst for Inter. He's the best one in the last 8 years but that's not due to him being great, that's more so because the others were awful and they had nowhere near as good a squad as he did even if you argue that the squad is not great.
Also the final result is us having 69 points. The fact that we ended up in CL is due to Milan and Roma shitting the bed more than anything.

Also in 2015-16 we ended up 4th on 67 points. If Serie A had 4 spots in CL then we would've made it.

With the team he had, including the injuries and feuds etc and considering the state of the other top 5/6 teams we should've been comfortably in 3rd place (which is just +4 or 5 points from where we are which is easily doable) instead of barely making it in 4th.

There is no credit to be given to Spalletti for his second season. Biggest thing on top of that is he is a loser with a loser mentality. Look no further than the quote in my signature to sum up his mentality.
