The other coaches were shit, there's no comparison. I'm not saying Spalletti is the worst coach in the world nor one of the worst for Inter. He's the best one in the last 8 years but that's not due to him being great, that's more so because the others were awful and they had nowhere near as good a squad as he did even if you argue that the squad is not great.
Also the final result is us having 69 points. The fact that we ended up in CL is due to Milan and Roma shitting the bed more than anything.

Also in 2015-16 we ended up 4th on 67 points. If Serie A had 4 spots in CL then we would've made it.

With the team he had, including the injuries and feuds etc and considering the state of the other top 5/6 teams we should've been comfortably in 3rd place (which is just +4 or 5 points from where we are which is easily doable) instead of barely making it in 4th.

There is no credit to be given to Spalletti for his second season. Biggest thing on top of that is he is a loser with a loser mentality. Look no further than the quote in my signature to sum up his mentality.
That is not the point. I have never said Spalletti did great job.

From utterly shit to okayish team is a progress. From mediocre coach options to Conte/Mourinho options is a progress. Top-4-with-only-Serie-A to Top4-with-CL-and-EL is a progress. If you dont give any credit to him, it is your fault of over-expectation, not his.

I only give him credit for his first season which he 100% deserves. I'm just saying the second season was a disappointment and definitely below expectations. If we had 6 or so more points at the end of this season my evaluation would change.

We should have been third, I think a mistake attributable to him was signing Nainggolan but in his defense we lost him in that decisive moment in November/December but Radja came up big in some moments at least but that's the clubs fault for not having a good enough back up prepared.

I can't blame Spalletti for Icardi's antics which seriously ruined our goal scoring, if I recall correctily Icardi could have decided both the Atalanta and Juve games.

Anyone that’s defending him should be embarrassed and doesn’t know shit about football, would guys still defend him if Handanovic wasn’t in god form yesterday? Wake up

With an “if” I can put Paris in a bottle. What if we didnt get robbed vs Fio?

Ignoring any bit of counter-arguments doesnt show that you know shit about football. This is the place for discussion.

I'm 100% certain Spalletti played part in Icardi antics. And most probably there were a lot more going on behind the scenes, in Marotta-Ausilio-Spalletti axis. All kinds of power struggles and Wanda demanding new contract played part in all that. And then stuff happening in locker room (Icardi, Perisic, Nainggolan...).

Anyway, at this point it is not about money anymore. Spalletti needs to be removed because he simply lost the locker room. It was like that for weeks, probably months.

Why is so much love for Spalletti? He reached his objectives, he was paid well and will receive a golden handshake, but it's time to move on!
I don't find enough arguments to give him another year in charge.

The name of Marcelino popped up again! I followed him at Valencia because at that time I wanted him here. By the way in the last two years he was more successful than Spalletti!

They should air a documentary that followed inter in the making of this season. I'd like to know the truth about what the fuck went on this year.

Turns out Berni was behind all the drama at the club for the past 2 years.

Its not Spalos fault that all nearly our transfers went wrong and our squad is worse than last year.

Our defence is quite decent but the rest? Nainggolan was shit until January. The other midfielders are Vecino, Gags, Valero and Joa Mario, thats just sad. Politano isnt world class either and Perisic was again very inconsistent. On top of all we had a huge striker problem thanks to Icardi.

Last year our defense was equal to this year, our wings were equal but we had Rafinha and Icardi in form.
So our squad wasnt better this season but he still managed to get us to the UCL.

On the other hand of course, our game plan doesnt look too great and he often brings on players far too late.

In my opion he is a good coach but not worldclass. At this stage, with the FFP running out and reaching the CL for the second time in row, we need to step up and for that we need a coach who isnt good but who is worldclass!

I can't completely resent Spalletti. There was lots of Toxic in the club. Thankful for what he did given what he had. It is time to move on though.... broken players

Spallo can be happy that all the other teams were even worse than us. 69 points in 38 games is a real bad result. Last year we would have been 5th with this amount of points.

I am thankful that he somehow brought some organisation into the club and brought us the Champions League twice, but now it is time to move on. This summer can be very interesting for us because it looks like a lot will change - the formation, the play stlye and even up to five spots in the starting line-up.

Grazie Luciano, all the best for the future and enjoy your huge paycheck

What an excellent argument, where did graduate from? Harvard?

He lost Icardi, not the locker room.

I'd pick the manager over an individual every day of the week.

At least in my case, rather than defend him, it was about parting ways on good terms

He did the bare minimum in both years, for which I thank him, now it's time to move on.

I respect the person, I don't like him much as a coach: he's stubborn, hasn't learnt anything from his mistakes, Inter's game plan has been painful to watch for at least this whole season.

I hope he doesn't try to screw Suning too much on the two years of wages left. It's his legal right to hold on to the last penny, but if he could agree on a golden handshake tomorrow (which is when a meeting is scheduled, according to gazzetta), that would be best.

And 6th the year before. We are lucky our rivals had no consistency else we would have finished outside top 4.
