That could actually be good for us, as it would mean Real Madrid will really focus to win their last game. If Real beat Mönchengladbach, then our destiny will be in our own hands, which is the most we can hope for in this situation.

However at this point I don't expect miracles from this team. CL campaign is pretty much over. We need to focus on Serie A.

This is a very worrying fixture. Gladbach is not a weak team and we approach this game with players at their physical limit. In the match against Sassuolo, Barella was visibly tired from the start, Bastoni went into ground and took his time before getting up again, and Darmian suffered cramp. The stake for the match is also extremely high for anything less than 3 points means goodbye for UCL. Considering our and Conte's record at UCL, I would not put much faith to qualify from the groupstage.

The least would be to win these last two matches. If we don't qualify, that sucks, but win these matches to make the effort for the qualification. Last two seasons we calculated different scenarios but ended up fucking it all by ourselves by not winning the match which was the base of all those scenario calculations. For once let's at least do that and let others decide our fate.

The fun part is that even if we beat Shakhtar in that situation, a draw between Gladbach and Real would still send us to Europa League.

I want us to lose and not qualify for the Europa League. That outcome will be a ground zero of sorts and will force us to solely focus on Serie A. It will allow us to have a full week to prepare for games and get things right.

Our results in the Champions League this season have proved that Inter playing in Europe is nothing but a pie in the sky distraction. We are clearly not up to the task and should stop harboring any dreams of qualification to the next round or making it into the Europa League.
