Revoking a title won't do anything, as our lovely friends at the FIGC and NCAA have proved. The players involved needed to be suspended and the likes of Lunhow, Cora, and Hinch needed to be banned for life.

Red Sox fans should be embarrassed by the way Henry is acting this Winter.

USC without a title from 2005 feels great. Still does.

Only because you feel emotional about it. No one outside the states of California or Oklahoma actually care. If you ask someone from Michigan or Ohio who won the title that year, the answer is still USC.

Still at zero. Memphis under Derrick Rose is also vacated. Stll, must've been nice when Inter in 2007 got to sing a song celebrating how they won without cheating

Astros should get the same. The PR situation today was even worse. Manfred trying to distract fans with a new playoff system? Pathetic.

I'm more-or-less with ADRossi on most of this, and feel that the whole "vacated championships" thing is just a paper punishment, but there's something different about the Astros that kicked in for me after hearing their comments yesterday. They're arrogant as hell and clearly weren't understanding just why what they were doing was wrong.

So, you know what? Fuck it. Strip the championship for all I care, because maybe that's the only way the lesson will be understood. I mean, the thing with NCAA punishments has generally been for off-the-field infractions of the "improper benefits" variety. Reggie Bush getting some impermissible benefits had zero impact on how USC was able to play their games. This isn't an off-the-field punishment, so it's different. At this point, I endorse a thrown book at the Astros.

If you're caught cheating/droping in the Olympics, you're stripped of your medal like Marion Jones was. Louisville also don't have a March Madness championship from 2013. They were the first basketball champions stripped of their title, could've been 2nd had Memphis made some free throws in 2008.

Lance Armstrong's 7 titles no longer exist because he admitted to doping. Same goes for Floyd Landis. How come they can't vacate the World Series? Manfred doubling down on this is a mess, let alone the Astros tripling down. They dropped the ball with a glorified slap on the wrist.

And FIGC did nothing? A relegation and Serie B song works pretty well.

That's different, if the Astros organization was suspended from the MLB for a year, that's an insane punishment. I wouldn't mind it but that's tough to do in US sports.

I'm kind of done with this story, Manfred keeps embarrassing himself and the Astros are doing themselves no favors. They're going to get thrown at every single series, and probably deservedly so. I just can't wait for opening day :)

It's happening. Anything can happen in a 60-game season eh?

Dodgers could build a dynasty with Mookie and that roster. So many young players that will be there after Kershaw retires.

As are first in their division, this comment didn't age well.

They'll screw it up it in October. Just like usual. What's baseball? A teAse.

Time to jump a bridge. Larry Baer did it again.

Plus my team is living out a Major League movie scenario to suppress their numbers with hopes to move.

On the field, mentally soft when it matters most. Players gotta win with another team.

Never thought I'd enjoy Baseball as much as I currently am. Think I mentioned this here before but I've been to the Dodgers stadium (I think) when I was in LA back in '12/'13 and it was hands down the most boring experience I've had to go through. But now I'm watching every game of the postseason and loving it! Of course I record all of the games and watch them on my own time because of the time difference and work and since no one gives a shit about the sport here or on my social timelines it's like I'm watching them live (unlike when I tried to watch the NBA playoffs and was spoiled a couple of times).

No idea on who to root for, I was leaning towards the Red Sox because I liked some of their players but I know them and the Yankees are the 2 biggest franchises and I usually root for the underdogs. When I consider the states or cities they represent I automatically call off the Astros because I'm not a fan of Texas but they have good players, Garcia had an amazing pitching display and the duo Correa & Altuve is awesome, apparently they're like the villans in the league? Being a neutral is fine for now I guess.

Anyways, looking forward to more baseball action. Does the World Series start soon after the CSs are done? hoping it takes a week or something because I'll try and get time off work in the 1st week of Nov.
