Didn't know where else to post. Watching NYCFC v Orlando. Very, very poor game in general, but Pirlo just came on.

He's going to tear MLS apart. He is playing at speed 0 while everyone else is at speed 10. Crazy how when a player is simply above the class level technically, how SLOW the game looks when they're on the ball.

Pirlo mocked in New York
By Football Italia staff

New York City FC's Andrea Pirlo is mocked by Red Bulls fans in his 2-0 derby loss, whilst supporters engage in violence.

The Italian maestro's American adventure is not picking up yet as his first derby in the big Apple saw him losing roundly to their city rivals.

The 36-year-old, alongside his 37-year-old teammate Frank Lampard, were mocked by their rival supporters for their age.

A large banner was raised with the words 'City retirement home' and a picture of the two footballers as old men.

The match also saw scenes of violence similar to those of ultras in Europe, as supporters of the two teams clashed outside a New York pub before the game.

Two groups of rival fans engaged in a flurry and threw objects at each other before the police intervened to restore order.

Well from what I heard they both looked like shit. Lampard especially as he was megged in the build up to one of the goals.

IMO the banner is fair game, they signed up to play there not to go on a victory lap around the U.S.

They are fucking old and the MLS is a fucking retirement home. Nothing wrong with what they did.

They should just raid the top players from Uruguay, Chile, Paraguay, Colombia every season that don't go to Europe. That is what the Mexican league does. The top scorer in Colombia almost always get sold to Mexico. Bring the league quality up the right way. With better players and not big name players no one who isn't a soccer fan knows or cars about.

That being said MLS gets shit on but it still isn't as boring to me as a EPL game

The MLS is getting things right ... they are putting the pieces together quiet nicely. MLS Soccer is taking itself very seriously and the growth in the game in the USA will coincide with the MLS becoming stronger on all levels.

The MLS is a legit league

Watch in 5 years , everyone was talking about the EPL 10 years ago as a retirement home for europes stars ... Look at them it today.
As I say, they are making the right moves ...and they have a long term plan ... already the US mens team is top 20-30 in the world ...and the potential for the growth in the game is immense

fuck off dude, if that was Inter during the Milan derby with banners making fun of them you wouldn't say the same thing.

Nothing wrong with the banner at all, just a fun jab at the opposing team's players.

I still think it's a POS. But hey.... it is what it is. Not too bad to watch.. as said, not into EPL a whole lot and been more entertained by this.

You care more about nationalities than any club in Europe.
