Good. Lautaro clearly isn't fit enough to start. Save him for City.

Inter and Manchester City met in the 2023 Champions League Final, which the Nerazzurri lost 1-0, but Guardiola naturally expects a different match:

Guardiola on Inter’s best qualities, Bastoni, Barella and ‘special’ Lautaro

Lautaro Martinez hasn’t yet scored this season but is among the 30 candidates for the Ballon d’Or alongside his teammate Hakan Calhanoglu.

Then Pep went on to praise Haaland for scoring 9 goals in 4 matches 🤭

These were sensible answers to interview. Pep responded the questions by acknowledging our strength accurately without talking over the top like he usually does after obliterating opponents
The only baffling part was how on earth he compared us with Brentford as if no big teams in EPL employ high pressing man-to-man marking aside from them :yao:

AFAIK hes not on CL list. Thx god..
Which was a bad decision by Inzaghi. How he thought all our other 4 strikers will be match fit all the time? Now we face City with 3 strikers. We've already seen this happening last seasons on several matches. Strange how Inzaghi put himself in the same situation by picking Buchanan over Corrra for the CL list, when the former is injured and even when fit he hardly plays.

I really want us to win here. I know that this is almost impossible, but it will be amazing, even if we fail next matches in CL.
A win vs the strongest EPL team in last couple of seasons will be great advertising for Inter and Italian football.
EPL fans and commentators will have a bitter pill to swallow, and at least for a while, they will keep their mouths shut and won't be arrogant as usual.
The last big team, which we have beaten was Barca, and that was long time ago.

I may be the only one who doesn't absolutely care about exposuring Inter and Italian football out there. I want Inter to win Scudetti and of course perform as best as possible in CL, whether it's against City, Real Madrid or Sheriff Tiraspol.

That error vs Monza is still haunting me, because we had every opportunity of the world to win that game.

Whatever, Inter can get fucked tonight. I'm going to the gym and sleep right after. Don't wanna bother and ruin my nerves on someone who doesn't care for themselves.

Let's be real, chances we win here are slim. Team will test the waters and try to secure a result but it won't be a do or die game for us, we won't bother much if it looks like we're going to lose.

I'm going to the match tonight so I hope we get a positive result but I fully expect City to win, their home record in the CL is amazing so it's a difficult place to go. This is our hardest match of the league phase and even a draw will be a bonus really, which I think we can do of we play well.

i would rather throw in Zielinski, Mkhi or anyone as a false striker instead of insecure Barbecue master

Correa is compete useless, no matter how difficult situation could get with injuries or suspensions. It makes more sense to play Frattesi in attack, or even bring Dumfries up front while we're on panic mode. Might sound stupid, but still makes more sense than playing a player who is as effortless as a cone. At least a cone has a function when it's set.

Dude is the biggest gaslighter in football. Whatever he says in press conferences, I don't believe it, whether it's good or bad, especially when he is talking about his opponents.

Mourinho has a similar shtick, but he does it with a certain charm and positive energy. With pep all I feel is pure psychopath energy.
Exactly. Pep is master of illusions and delusions - and we know his personality based on how other footballers like Zlatan described him.

Pep has been praising out of form/fatigued Lauraro to put pressure on Inzaghi and play him from the start.

Now according to latest Sky reports, Lauraro won't be starting!

Predicted: Inter (3-5-2): Sommer; Bisseck, Acerbi, Bastoni; Darmian, Barella, Calhanoglu, Zielinski; Taremi, Thuram.
Seems that we're advertising Bisseck to the EPL 🤭

It's certainly not the best moment for us to play against such an opponent in terms of fitness/sharpness, but at least nobody will underestimate them. It will be interesting to see how they will play without the pressure of a Final.

The one positive ray of light here is that City also have a big game at the weekend they will have in mind, though they are at the stage where the Champions League is very much their priority over domestic success anyway - the opposite of Inter.

Inter have been a bit unfortunate both with the draw generally and the order of fixtures. Getting City later on in the campaign when they had amassed the points they needed to qualify and were happy to rest Haaland would have been much preferable to how it worked out. Oh well.

I'm imagining that Bisseck has been picked because of his power and pace which they will really need if they try and press City higher up the field. Acerbi is not getting back if City break and Bastoni is not the quickest either.

I'll be interested to see Taremi tonight too. He seems to have attracted broadly positive comments for his limited contributions thus far, however I've not really seen anything from him yet to be engender positivity about what he can bring over the season - I emphasise so far as it is really early still of course. Tonight would be a good game for him to introduce himself.

I guess it's cause they played Brentford at the weekend.
