I think Brozovic for Banega was the obvious substitution today. Let's hope that he starts next to Banega in a mostly unchanged side on Thursday.

Yup, we definitely need to play most of our first 11 in that game. We're in such a delicate state that we can't afford to rotate, or even lose this game (despite how low our chances of progressing are).

That appears to be De Boer's thoughts as well

Not to sure what to think of his performance yesterday. Imho his first half was pretty fucking bad not tracking back and misplacing a lot of balls. He stepped up in the second but kind of ruined it with the red card i mean both yellows were unnecessary, in the first one if he pulls back i dont think he would get booked and the game would have gone on the same way and the second one was just unnecessary and put the team into a lot of troubles.

Despite the misses, he busted his ass off. I am willing to bet he ran more than anyone. He will start scoring soon if he continues like that

Yeah, terrible misses but he was pretty good throughout the match. Ran his ass off.

Despite his couple of blunders in front of the goal, you must be blind not to notice how Brozovic next to Banega and Mario has made us play football again. We looked comfortable, creative, calm and passing the ball around has never been so easy with those three together in midfield. You have to look at this bigger picture.

This game and the next two should give you a good illustration of how much Medel is completely crippling the midfield and should stay away as much as possible. He was born to play for a coach like Mancini.

IF this 3 trio midfield can gel togethar we will have one deadly midfield, as well I am guessing this kind of midfield will only work if we play against team such as Torino and other similar team, big teams can be dengerouse to have so many creative players, or if we keep the ball then this setup will be great

Agreed the good thing is that in serie a other than Jube, Roma and Napoli i dont see many teams where this 3 man midfield wont work maybe add fiore but i think against the rest it should be enough.

Even against the big teams I think it can work if we are smart enough tactically. We just can't get stretched. We managed to stay pretty compact today till around the 70th minute. That's when perhaps a bigger game you shut up shop a little bit to protect what you have if you're not chasing the game.

His cunt of a face and body language get on my nerves, and that MISS, it was a typical Dzeko miss, lord jesus buddha candice swanepoel (best god out of the lot) was it a horrible one.

Having said that, I love how he's always on the offensive, wanting to receive the ball (even when he really shouldn't, the idiot) and has this urging need to create something. He also plays on a higher tempo than most of our players which is something we lack greatly and I appreciate massively. Notice how slow and unadventurous most of our passes are, especially around the centre? He breaks that mould and gets me on my feet. I still think he's a dumbass though and is only instinctively smart whereas if and when he uses his brain he fucks up quite a bit, such as when he overruns into opposition players like a retard (hate using this word).

Not to say he can't improve that part of his game, maturing and whatnot. He'll be a scary player if he does.
