such a sick goal, wish he could get into those situations more often, but usually he's being marked

Conte likes to involve midfielder in the offensive part, we will probably see more of this some times.

I believe actually that these two goals from today have something to do with Lugano's poor midfield marking. But nevertheless, very nice goals even it is preseason...

He just posted “United we can win”.
I wonder who that “dig” was meant for?

With Barella/Sensi doing more of the dirty defensive work this upcoming season, I expect to see more opportunities and goals for Brozo in a more advanced B2B position

True. But you also need the midfielder to get the opportunity to shot outside. With Spalletti for example i only saw Nainngolan trying to score from outside. Brozo and Vecino were always somewhere else specialy when we played 4231.

i remember the Juve from Conte where Vidal and Pogba was involved a lot, we will for sure see something simliar.

Was going to say the same thing...his teams at Juve had high scoring midfielders:

2011-12
Marchisio - 10 (joint top scorer)
Vidal - 7

2012-13
Vidal - 15 (top scorer)
Marchisio - 8
Pogba - 5
Pirlo - 5

2013-14
Vidal - 18 (CL top scorer with 5)
Pogba - 9
Pirlo - 6

His positioning as the pivot was more advanced when we are in opponent’s third.

So he would be more involved in the attacking phase this season. Makes sense considering we play 3 at the back.

This is a good observation, he was about 10 meters higher up. It seemed like he was willing to press higher to win the ball. Like you said makes sense he won’t drop as deep since there is a player directly behind him occupying that space.

Pep just replied, the curses was told in Italian too so that Serie A can understand his answer. He explains that before they didn't stand united after letting a goal in but now do and also told Brozovic to fuck off

I'm looking forward to Brozovic using his attacking skills with better midfield coverage. Hopefully conte's experience as a good midfielder (due to effort, not so much natural skill) can rub off on brozovic. We need this guy's head in the game, all game.

That's because he is, considering the other midfielders on the pitch were Gagliardini, Sensi + Swiss league midfielders.

I saw a lot of videos from Barella and Sensi and i think they really like to shot on goal when they have the opportunity. While im not sure about Brozo.. for sure he made some goals at Inter when he had the opportunity but he's distance shots are not that great tbh. Brozo is fast, has a good tackling, he's a decent defensive midfielder for me, but at passing, crossing, shooting he needs to improve

If you want your MCs to score they need to enter the box.

Barella doesn't do it that much, Brozovic rarely does it as of late but a change of role may see it happen, Sensi doesn't do it. You are left with Gagliardini and Vecino to step foot into the box.
Nainggolan is the only one who could excel in this role from existing midfielders and he was "out of plans" from day 1.

Pirlo mostly scored from distance, Pogba was a mix and Juventus had Vidal who excelled at this. Marchisio also did it quite a lot and Brozovic could potentially get into that role but he needs to improve dribbling and shooting for that to happen.

He can pull it off, but it's not his style. He did it with Cagliari occasionally as well. He needs to become more dangerous in the box basically.

Pretty sure we just witnessed two out-of-the-box goals two days ago. But in general, it does increase the chance of MF scoring if he gets in the box.

Barella is used to playing in a very advanced position, like Nainggolan does for us. He is always looking for spaces to get in or shoot around the box. Though I think he is better suited in a more b2b position where he can make those runs.

Brozovic is also suited for a similar role. The fact that we was playing as our deepest midfielder throughout, meant that he couldn't get much forward or shoot with the frequency that Vecino or Nainggolan did. If Sensi takes that role, then we should see more of this.

But in my opinion, we need another midfielder for that more advanced position. And looking at Conte style, someone like SMS would be that MF.
