That pass to Borja tonight could have knocked us out of the CL. It’s not all his fault though. For example if he were passing that to Barella it wouldn’t have been a problem but you just can’t do that with old man Borja back there.

I actually like what I’m seeing from him in a more advanced position. If we had someone other than Borja to play that deeper role I think it could work out really well. His shot is a weapon we should use and he’s actually pretty good bursting forward with his athleticism.

Yep. Not the best pass from Brozovic but I was stunned seeing Valero just watch the ball coming to him, waiting to see if the ball would reach him first or if the defender would get there earlier.

More indication (as if we even needed it) that a DM is a necessary purchase.

He probably ran 12kn yesterday covering every area of the pitch and got unlucky twice with his attempts on goal. Amazing game from him

The volley on the crossbar was so pure, so perfectly executed, it deserved to go in.
Great game for him, especially seeing that he was playing with Valero and the second coming of Kuzmanovic.

I was screaming my lungs out during that. It's something you teach kids at 5 years old and Valero just stood there waiting for the ball???????

We praised Sensi => injured , we praised Barella => injured....
Maybe it's better to be quite.

I don't recall if it was here on FIF or on the WhatsApp group, but a few weeks ago I defined him the best midfielder in Serie A.

He provides the work of a holding midfielder with the quality of a playmaker.

It's no coincidence that both Spalletti first and now Conte never did/do without him.

For some reason I think Brozovic might be a late bloomer. He doesn't rely on pace so much as his technique and reading of the game. Sure, his work rate will gradually become lower, but he could still control the pace of a game.

Brozovic is a player who always falls apart at high pressure matches. Roma match is usually a high-pressure match, like it was today. And as expected, Brozo eventually falls apart. His decision making simply goes down as the game goes on. In the dying seconds he got the ball few times and couldn't be able to pull anything reasonable with it.

Yeah he was decent. That’s part of why he’s so frustrating. He gets so close to be a great player then falls short. It’s just the details in his game that stop him from being truly top class.

Exactly. He's a bit like Spalletti. He took Inter to the next level. Brozovic took Inter's midfield to the next level. But now we are playing a game where we need real talented, high-level thinking players to run our midfield. And Brozovic ain't gonna cut it.
