The newspaper claims there’s a common desire to reach an agreement. Brozovic turns 29 in November and the former Dinamo Zagreb player’s contract at Inter expires in June 2022. The report claims he demands €6m to stay at the club, while Inter are currently offering €4m a season.

It is stupid to sign Hakan at that enormous wage, despite the free cost. Everyone else will ask for that figure from now on.

Yeah Hakan and Brozovic are equivalent in terms of contract status. Our extension with Brozovic basically means signing a free agent as he can walk for free in 8 months (and can sign a contract with another club in 3 months). With Barella it's different as his current contract runs out in 2024 so there isn't too much leverage.
