And to be fair we partly owe it to Suning. Both coach and management had agreed to send him to Sevilla and replace him with Pastore but Chinese blocked everything and he ended up staying. Then Spalletti tried him as a regista and the rest is history.

Very happy with the contract extension. Is it for the right price? For the situation we are in right now I would so yes. We can't afford to loose him and we can't buy a replacement so it's a easy choice. Good chance he will end his career at Inter because he will be 33 when his contract is running out.

I don't know if there were a situation when this would not be a fair deal. Financially, 6m/year is the same as buying a player for 30m and paying him 3m/year. But that player would be very likely not as good as Broz.

I'm also thinking about the rest of the team. If they can/will pay Brozovic minimum of 6M why Skriniar and De Vrij shouldn't ask this kind of salary? If we had the money to buy players we would never pay him this salary even though this guy is so important for the team.

Yeah they say (all over the place not just GdS) that it will be 6m€ + bonuses. Somewhere it said reaching 6.5m€, somewhere reaching close to 7m€.

I`ve also read he will earn around €6 million net per season, rising to €7 million with add-ons (probably towards 2026).

Can we just get official confirmation, Newcastle offered him 100k p/w from reports here and other clubs have approached him, I keep reading he wants to stay and I do expect him to stay, he needs to sign ASAP officially.

no top player is signing for newcastle until they're confident they wont get relegated. theres 0% chance brozovic will sign for them right now, theres like >50% chance he'd be playing championship football next year.

Also I seriously doubt he wants to go to Newcastle to play in the Championship next season. The fact that there isn't too much noise about big clubs after him suggests that he plans to extend his contract.
