I think Barella is much better at holding the ball because Barella uses his body and strength much better. I can see some of Brozovic's passes being better (not long passing as Barella is great at that) but it's not as if Brozovic delivers many great through balls a game. For me, it's really about mentality. Barella steps it up in important occasions - he regularly looked good for Cagliari when facing big teams. He's also the one driving us on in that game vs. Slavia where our entire team was scared.

I guess what I'm saying is that I'd rather see Vecino-Borja-Barella if it came down to it then see those two guys with Brozovic. Brozovic will always lose his head, while I believe Barella would step it up.

Also, I don't think it's always a case of him making stupid mistakes because of who he's playing with. Gagliardini has hardly been great but I don't think he runs away from responsibility. He actually typically tries to free himself to receive the ball - his issue is that as a box-to-box is that he's not an excellent goal threat and doesn't offer much when running with the ball. Brozovic has made stupid mistakes even playing with Barella such as that Parma match. He also tends to lose his head as soon as he makes a bad mistake and doesn't seem able to pick himself back up.

I thought you played football, didn't you? When you usually have no choice to pass the ball to your player, then surely things get harder, especially when you are pressed by couple of opponent players.

Or another way, when you're trying for a quick first touch pass but your teammate is sleeping and doesn't make a movement to keep the build up. I already said that he makes mistakes at times, but many of them I have seen that his idea was good but we are lacking quality players to read that. He has a good vision and can read the game pretty well, we need more players like this, especially in midfield.

Good players around you make you a better player.

I love him but I'm afraid that for us to take the next step, we'll need a different option. Not because of his temper or qualities, but Conte needs this player to beat able to turn and dribble.

People must be blind. This guy was covering Valero's ass all game. Try playing 10vs11 against Barcelona with Vecino sucking the right side of pitch 247. Brozo was doing 2 mans work.

He needs better midfielders around him. It's always been like that. he cant lead the midfield by his own, he is exhausted and runs a lot, eventually breaks down. When physically exhausted, you mind goes down as well and you look stupid af.

He will be back, once Sensi and/or Barella are back.

Brozo is just as pathetic last night but all I read here is 'he is tired, he need help' FUCK THAT!!! He is at this club for 5 years and he hasn't even begin fufilling his potential. Still the same the player he came here as a teenager. If we can settle our differences with Nainggolan he should the be the first to go. Imagine a 9ggolan-Sensi-Barella midfield? :slick:

The only thing I fault him for last night are all the free kick crosses he took.

We are going into 2020 with low crosses and short corners, I can't believe it.

His fuckup against Dortmund is what effectively cost us.

Moving on from that, he is the least of our issues. Sure a better player in his role will help, but then we need 3-4 other signings in other positions before this. Only thing I want from Brozo and Conte is to ensure he has no part to play in our set pieces.

If there is a way to sell Brozo to get someone like Eriksen, sure, go for it. But as for now, he is our engine and he plays every game. Mistakes will happen.

Least of our midfield issues yes, he's almost the same even with Barella and/or Sensi. He loses his head at high pressure matches. At Croatia it ain't so, so it might about the role. I don't remember was Brozo more like just a defensive midfielder for NT without play making task. That's immediately much easier role when you don't have to run the show.

He's been a starter under ever coach, he runs a lot, we don't have backup for him. I'm just thankful he is not injury prone.

So that's why he decided to go on vacation early. Glad to see Brozo got his priorities straight.

I think your post does him injustice.

I would love to see stats of the players who have run the most in Serie A this season - I wouldn't be surprised if Brozovic is right up there. He works crazy hard every game, without any rest or rotation for club or country. I am surprised he hasn't broken down yet. Yes, he makes the odd mistake now and then, and has bad games specially near the end of a packed schedule (7 games in 21 days kinda stuff). But what else do you expect? He is human, and ideally we shouldn't be running him into the ground like this.

Brozovic has been an amazing engine for Inter this season, one of the main reasons why we are still on top of the table in Serie A. I say, thank God for Bro. Still our most important midfielder, I wouldn't even think about selling him.

I've started playing football again the last couple of months. I haven't had a game in probably about ten years, guess some members here were like me and man, you have no idea how dumb you become on the pitch when you're tired. Decision making and precision go out the window real fast. So yeah, this helps me understand the brain farts Brozo has from time to time - as everyone knows he is playing literally every minute for half a season now and even pros probably wear down. If not physically then at least psychologically. He's the last person who I'd blame for subpar performances, considering the amount of heavy lifting he's doing in midfield for us.
