Hmmm perhaps, scientifically we would want to them play and function as close to each other as possible.

Otherwise one game where we lack creativity people are just going to say Vidal is useless, and another game where we lack ability to win duels we would just say Sensi shouldn’t be starting.

I guess that’s why football discussions go round and round and never reach any solid conclusions.

? I’m not really sure what do you want me to elaborate, do you think players playing in the same position means they function the same? Then Gagliardini is the same as Brozovic?

Sensi was the one who instigated each attacking move from the back to move the ball out from the back, he was the one who took over the Brozovic role. He then makes the off ball movement by the end of the attacking phase to join the attack, it’s quite impressive positionally really.

Vidal on the other hand sits further up front than Sensi at the start of the attack, but moves vertically less, and joins in the box less. He connects more transitional passes than move the ball forward from the back.

That is why it is fundamentally different to what Brozovic gives.

Oh and position wise, Brozo was a single pivot, even after Eriksen came in we seemed to have remained in that midfield shape.

I am not really saying Brozovic had a good game or not, it’s just that it is a fundamentally flawed comparison and some days we would need Brozovic’s talent in dictating play and exploiting flanks against teams that we would like to dominate through passes. This is something Vidal doesn’t give but can be complementary with.

Perhaps we should stop viewing players as mutually exclusive and start looking at them additively to understand how they can function as a unit than individually.

Give us back TROLL WALLACE!

Offloading him and 9golan and keeping galgialrdini and vecino would be beyond moronic......

To anyone who may have forgotten....please do watch any game last season where brozovic was not there..... the man literally runs for 2 midfielders, is technically competent and has decent vision and aggression...he was playing almost every single game last season every 3 days when he was avaliable....criminally underrated

Thank you. I've been saying this shit forever. The concept that we will work to get rid of good players and keep the not good ones is....BEYOND MORONIC.

I believe we have enough of good midfielders that we can sell Brozović. If somebody offers enough money for Brozo, sell immediatly.

No matter what, Brozovic will be the first name in the midfield for any big match for us. The job he does of sitting in front of back 3, picking up the ball, distributing it, no one else can be trusted to do that. And I'm sure Conte feels the same. The only ways where this can change are if we sign someone like Locatelli, or Conte changes things around a bit such that Sensi becomes the playmaker from the back flanked by Barella and Vidal. But given his injury history, I see the chances of that happening aren't too high.

Our good midfielders: Barella, Vidal, Sensi. Rest are not good (Gags), not effective (Eriksen), out of the plans/club (Nainggolan) or injured (Vecino). If Brozovic goes, we need a replacement who can play as a starter.

I wouldn't count Eriksen out. If Eriksen is sold, okay, keep Brozo. But if it's vice-versa, we'll see a lot of Eriksen on the pitch.

No, thank you. Offer Verratti and then we can talk.

You guys have to make up your mind. Either Eriksen gets too few chances, or he is a waste for us and not reliable.

Brozo and Eriksen won't go both. It's either, and I think it's rather Brozo on the out, as again let's just look at Brozos positon. We got nobody as his sub when we let Valero go. So if we play 352 to suit Brozo, who do we have as his sub?

With Eriksen we have Eriksen, Sensi, and in rough times even Sanchez can play in the hole.

I think the whole time it was Skriniar and Brozo that we wanted to offload as they don't suit us now and we could upgrade the team with their sales. If it won't happen it will be tough luck for us, as both will lower our chances for winning something this season.

When it comes to Brozovic, we should also take into consideration his contract situation. He has only two years left in his contract. Either you offer him an extension or you sell him now else you would lose him on the cheap next summer.

Yes, this plays a key part in this Brozovic sale thing. We want to monetize him now. I have a feeling we will sell him next summer as we will look for another solution for the defensive midfielder role.

Brozovic sale money would be almost totally plusvalenza so he is very juicy sale target.

If we sell Brozo and with same money get Locatelli, i'm all in.

According to Romano, there were discussions about Brozovic in two possible swap deals. Inter offered Brozovic to Atletico for Partey but it was rejected by the Spanish team as they would only let Partey go for the amount of his release clause. On the other hand, PSG offered Paredes for Brozovic but the offer was rejected by Inter as they didn't see Paredes as an upgrade and the evaluations of the two players from the teams were very far.

I would go all in for Locatelli now or at the latest in the winter to book for the summer. Juve will try to get him for sure. Their CEO confirmed Juve were after him this window (but probably offered only some loan deal).

We might have to accept a lower fee for Brozovic next summer, obviously, but I'm okay with that. I rather sell him than renew him with a big salary, not optimal for a rotation player and I don't want to base our mdifield around Brozovic anymore. And that seems to be the view of Inter too.

How can anyone here justify Marotta’s keeping of Brozo and not selling him for 30m and using the money to sign Locatili? If it isn’t incompetence at its best what is it then? Brozo is one gap in midfield that will hurt us a great deal.

The one grap in midfield that will hurt us a great deal is gagliardini. Plus noone was really interested in brozovic this summer, how can you expect marotta to magically create a buyer?

Obviously he can't since the player doesn't even exist.
