I hope this is not true as 6mln salary seems pretty fair to me.
"Inter are trying to convince midfielder Marcelo Brozovic on a contract extension, but their offer of €6 million net per season could be insufficient to find an agreement.


This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that the Nerazzurri have gone up to this amount with their offer but that the Croat is not yet ready to sign a new deal as he waits to consider the interest of other top European clubs who could offer him more.

Brozovic’s current deal is set to run out at the end of June 2022 and the Nerazzurri are determined to secure his future beyond next summer rather that see him leave for free amid the interest of a number of top clubs including Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Nerazzurri have raised their offer to a net of €6 million per season to try and convince the midfielder, though he feels that he could potentially receive significantly higher offers from elsewhere.

Biasin said something similar. Brozovic is asking for 8m but Inter can't offer more than 6m. Imo our offer is more than fair. If the figures are accurate, then the management did everything they could to keep him. Now it's up to Brozovic to decide if he wants to stay at Inter or he just wants to play for the team that offers the most.

He's probably looking to compansate for missed earnings over the past few years when he was our starter and this has not been his first season playing very well. They should pay him for that.

He might be valuing his last 2 seasons 6-7 mil, that's why he's now asking for 8, I assume, to compensate for the delayed extension.

Vidal's salary has been higher than his for almost year and a half. Vidal was free, but that argument is not gonna work since Brozo's transfer has already been paid. There are no additional costs at the moment.

Barella's extension came quicker and he's younger. It's not comparable.

I'm not saying Marotta should cave, just that it's not unheard of and it does make sense.

I have to agree with this, I just can't imagine where we would be without Brozovic, no one covers the pitch like this guy he is hugely talented, I honestly just can't think of a player who does what Brozo does.

Does anyone think Brozo wants more money as a reason to staying as Perisic will be leaving? They're naturally very close I am sure he won't be as happy when Perisic leaves (if he does, but we all expect him to end of season)

@magnesium is bob on too, Sanchez leaves in January even (its possible, no?) I don't see it as 7m a season I see it as 7m minus his current salary covered by the sale or release of Erik, Sanchez, Vecino, Perisic etc.

Is it though? Don't forget about the locker room. When other players start requesting similar salaries... if barella gets disgruntled that he just signed at a much lower rate.
