We have enough midfielders. Fix that hole in the defence first.
We don't have enough midfielders, or at least enough quality midfielders.

And defence is not a dam. You don't fix it by fixing the hole inside the defence. Leaking goals is not just about defenders. It's the whole system, specially the midfielders who play a big role in helping the defence line preventing the opponent from scoring.

Issue isn't Barca being broke but handcuffed by FFP limitations courtesy of Bartomeu's disastrous tenure

Kessie was never a good fit but came free and I suspect Alemany always intended to use him as a bartering chip in a future deal. His wages are similar to Brozovic while both contracted through 2026 - their current estimated market values despite age difference are similar

Due to Marcelo's age, I think he would be a rotation option and potentially moved on as I can't envision him in a longterm DM role - especially with Nico returning in summer

I would take it only because Franck isn't going to play in Xavi's Barca apart from mopup minutes or CDR - Brozovic is more the technical piece at DM that would fit better, although again would not be a starter. It is the reason, for me, this is a deal that is motivated mostly in terms of asset restructuring for FFP

I doubt Brozovic has ANY intention moving to Barcelona if he's not getting strong guarantees by Xavi for playing time. He's at his prime years, can't see him wasting those years at bench given his current situation.

Agree 100% this possible swap is purely asset restructuring motivated deal and thus hard to get through with the players, at least Brozovic.

I agree. Never understood the move and not surprised he wants out shortly after his arrival.

I can only imagine this swap happening in a Paratici type of deal (unrealistic evaluations to balance the books).

It was reported yesterday evening how Inter values Brozovic 60m€. So there you go. :D

It would be next level shithousery that after all these plusvalenza investigations going on and such, Inter and Barca would pull this off hahaha

Remember what we said about Perisic? "We have Gosens and Dimarco. He'll slow down. He's expensive."

Look at how we suffered in the first half of the season...

I dont like Dimarco as the LWB, but Perisic is having his worst season since he left BVB. so not overpaying for a 34 year old that needs to run a lot was not really that bad of a move.

I can fully understand our management and decision to not extend Perišić. We got Gosens as his long-term replacement. It was perfectly logical. The only consern was that Gosens was injured, and he could never recover form before injury. But we took that risk. So we didn't want to extend Perišić.
At the end of the season, there were some signs that Gosens won't be good enough. So or management decided to extend Perišić, but it was too late, he got offended for not extending his contract earlier so he refused.
From this point of view. Would be better for us if we extended him instead of signing Gosens. He is still better than Gosens. And he is that type of athlete that can last for years. So he surely could play two more seasons at Inter. But fuck it, it's too late now. Gosens fucked up us tbh.

I don't know pre injury Gosen was pretty fking good and was also great with Germany. So not the Atalanta system hiding his weaknesses. Like you said it was a gamble that did not pay off

Current Perisic is lackluster at best. Then again id say he would have still been great with us. Tottenham is a graveyard.

Look at the news, they say it depends on barcelona, maybe it depends on Brozo also but the sad fact is that nobody says that even a small thing depends on Inter.

This is the new reality with Zhang, nothing depends on Inter, never.

Brozovic agent said there's no truth in the rumors. Brozovic loves Inter and he's staying at the club

He has a solid season, not bad, lackluster or garbage..Whole Tottenham is crap, plus Conte has no fkn clue. Garbage??Fifers just being salty cause he left us. He is not bad or garbage this season. Son who is much more important in that team has crappier season. Hjojberg is also not good this season. Perisic is last to be blamed for another Tottenham failure.

people forget we sent him on loan and would do anything to sell him. He was in a contract year and played out of his mind and wanted a bigger contract.

I am fine he left and sucks we don't have the money to properly reinforce.
