Welcome Back Marco ;) This guy had some potential when he was playing for our primavera and the Italy U23 but I guess he didn't get his fair chance at Inter and then Roma.

How is he performing with Chievo? Is his home-grown status the only reason why we bought him back?

Tbh I didn't watch him closely but he has been a regular at Chievo since he joined them this summer and for the fact that we chose him shows atleast that he isn't doing that bad.

Again, why would you want to bring Italians just for the sake of them being Italian?

I don't get this move. He never seemed that impressive for me, and I think we should've given some player of ours a chance. Natalino is who I am talking about.

Do you really think he'd be good if both Inter and Roma sold him? I doubt it. He barely played for Roma before they had Burdisso.

It's probably a plan to fill in Cordoba/Matrix's bench spot using a decent home grown player. Andreolli would be a decent backup because of his experience in Serie A, rather than relying on inexperienced and useless home grown youngsters like Nwankwo.

Experience in Serie A? :wth:

How old is the guy? Has he ever played for any team consistently for even 3 matches?

He's 24. I believe he's played quite a bit for Chievo since arriving in the summer. However as I pay little attention to them, I have no idea how's he done. If they bought him back in a co-ownership deal, he must be doing something right.

Andreolli has played as a starter for Chievo for most of the season (football-lineups.com). Only in the latest games he's been dropped to the bench. I think he's a perfect backup CB, and not least for his club-trained status. Backups don't need to be world class or anything, just a reliable domestic level players (domestic level = player who can play in domestic championship without any problems). We can't have expensive CBs as our backups. And who knows what comes out of Andreolli, he's still young as CB.

That's exactly what I wanted to post. Thank you. Good move. Montolivo is going to be our next italian.

Chievo kept 2 clean sheets in the past 2 games.... Andreolli played in both. Have no idea how he did lol but evidently he suffered a neck/head injury against Napoli though and was stretchered off towards the end of the game.
