Why are teammates and opponents always discouraging the player from leaving the pitch in such cases and then go preach about how they support the affected party?

He scored a goal at the end of the game by the way.

exactly, his teammates should walk off with him each time this happens so these idiots can get the damn hint and stop chanting ignorant shit and just watch football

start enforcing really harsh penalties for fans and teams, enough of this nonsense, it would be unfair to the team playing but i honestly think if you start deducting points from their teams these dudes will shut the hell up real quick, i think its worth it to do it a few times to send a serious message

some things are bigger than football, like HUMAN FRIKIN DECENCY

Actually that won't work with italian ultras
.I remember some time ago , some (later arrested) juve ultras were blackmailing the club to receive discounted season tickets or else they would encourage other fans to cheer racist chores and penalize the club. The more importance their behavior gets the more dangerous ultras fans become.

The only solution is to find a way to ban them from the stadium.

The stadium ban isn't enough imo. Their faces and names should be made public on the social media platforms of the respective clubs. That way, the racist behavior would thereafter affect their lives on a daily basis and (we can hope) they'd think twice before making monkey noises. Imo it would not only be an adequate punishment, but it would also prevent future incidents.

After all, the end goal is not to punish racists, but rather prevent it from happening in the first place.

Where there is a will, there is a way. What's lacking is the will.

Balotelli also joked about the fact some more Week 26 games were played behind closed doors before Serie A was ordered to halt.

“They had to wait until Juventus went back on top before stopping the league,” he laughed.

“In all honesty, I hope Serie A doesn’t start up again until there are no more cases. I got so angry at the start when I urged everyone to stop and people insulted me for it. Maybe now they’ve finally realised the situation.

I've always loved this guy

this guy makes me so sad, to be honest. he had the potential to be among some of the best in the world. It's different to Adriano who was blighted by problems after his father died - and I get that - but Mario seemingly (theres probably stuff under the surface) consciously wasted his own talent.

Could have been great. I thought playing at Brescia, at least, would have given him some spurr to try to finish his career in a good way. Guess not.

I just think he's one that was never motivated to have a great football career-- he found himself playing for big teams because his skills were undeniable. He just wanted a high paying job that suited his lifestyle. Which I guess is fine from a certain perspective, but he was actively disrespectful to his team and their supporters on more than a few occasions. This should just about exclude him from a move to any serious team at this point, and it has.

Still think we would have won the 2010-2011 Scudetto if he was in the squad.

Selling Balo was probably one of the best ideas we had in the past decade. He disrespected the entire team, its fan and showed no commitment whatsoever.
Hiring Benitez after Mou was what made us lose the scudetto.

I don't disagree, but we suffered greatly by not buying a direct replacement for him (cough cough Cavani)

We could have at least backed Rafa by buying Mascherano and that other forward he requested (but not Kuyt).

Well in hindsight we should've but Cavani would definitely not come to eat the bench, we had Milito, Eto'o, and Pandev as our attack. Plus young talented Cou and Biabiany. So I get not buying Cavani at that moment (even though we got Pazzini like later that season if I'm correct.

That I agree on though, the management should've backed Rafa. But they didn't, still believe with another coach we would've had another scudetto. But as mentioned before, all in hindsight easy to say.

oh i agree. My point was just that when he wanted to turn up, he was amazing. Was it a game against Milan, I wanna say? where he came on in the second half, looked bored, decided 'to score', and scored like a great goal from like 30 yards out to win the game?

when he gave a shit, he was pretty much unplayable. Shame he never really gave a shit.

No. Balotelli never scored in the derby, for either team.

Apparently he signed with Romanian side FC Cluj.

I don't predict this will end very well.
