He shouldn't convince anyone as he is 4th choice and he knows it. He is also motivated enough, judging by his performance.Nothing wrong with that if you have scored 4 yourself , not if you're the 4th striker in the ranks who is supposed to convince people that he should start. He should have scored or at least try to score in those occasions rather than pass
And yes, you will say he knows he won't start and will be the 4th and has accepted his role, but that's the problem. If a player has lost motivation to be the best at what he does and has fallen into comfort zone , you can't magically expect him to get out of it when you play At Madrid in a key CL match. Sanchez for example never accepted being a 4th option and you could see the motivation to show people wrong every time he played, diff story that his physique was no longer there.
Arna is a good lad , probably contributes a lot to the atmosphere in the locker room , he is also very technical/flashy but that's it.
I would never feel confident to get a win if he is the one starting in any match of ours
It's ridiculous to bash him like that because of his decision to pass the ball. Thuram also had the same opportunity, where he decided to shoot instead to pass to Mkhitaryan.
I'm pretty sure that if Arna took a shot, and he missed, now the same people would criticize him again, why he didn't pass instead.
