Has to be said, he has taken his chances better than Castaignos.

Yes yes, Marko has been given more faith and less competition. However you can see his versatility. Castaignos on the wing.... :palm: that was torture.

I still think castaignos ia a class finisher and we should have kept him, but then again so were people like eliakwu, del'agnello, etc. At the end of the day its a game of numbers, and you can take ten identical playsrs at age 18 and the end resukts will be different. Livaja is doing well though. Loan him in jan i bope esp id we sign a new outside right

Well, good to see Livaja scoring some goals and he has potential to be quite a versatile attacking player. Hopefully he'll remain starter in Europa League and if he continues to do well, then get more minutes in Serie A too.

Tho indeed, getting rid of Castaignos I still believe to be a massive mistake and even if we wanted him to remain initially, we probably didn't do much to convince him to change his mind and at least accept a loan. I am reasonably certain that barring any serious injuries, this kid will eventually become one of the best goalscorers in the world. His natural physical build is fabulous for a central striker (a great balance between strenght, height and speed), technical ability is quite good and elsewhere in his games, he hasn't got any problem he cannot overcome with experience. I think the mistake we might've made was that we thought (at least I at the start did think so) he could be some kind of a Cristiano Ronaldo type player who can score a lot while being a support/wide player. I'm quite certain that had he played in Siena instead of Destro, he would've scored more goals than Destro did.

With the situation currently, we should prepare to say good bye to Milito at the end of the season. I mean Livaja hugely impresses when he plays, albeit its a weaker team, plus Longo seems to be doing better and we are rumored to the likes of Llorente etc...

Milito has huge contract till 2014 and at the moment he is still scoring. I think he remain at least till 2014 or he accepts pay cut and remains even longer but then he hopefully is just a substitute with lot less wages.

Contract till 2014 means nothing nowadays, we will terminate if we cant move him.. I mean Lucio, J.Cesar etc all had theirs torn.

I really doubt he will stay on for lesser wages because he will get good wages elsewhere.

It was pretty hard with Cesar already. Milito is 34 next year so I doubt he will get offers anywhere near of we probably want to give him. Remember how much we were willingly to offer for Deki and Chivu and they were not performing like Milito has.

I think Moratti has a soft spot for Milito and Milito probably wants to stay so I think he will stay for lesser wages.

Cesar, Lucio and Maicon are Brazilians and they are all gone. We are willingly to count more on Argentinians.

I'm not sure if I even want him for lesser wages. I'd rather just terminate his contract at the end of the season and give some of those wages to Llorente. I don't like the idea of going into the 2013/14 season with three 30+ plus centre forwards (and Palacio and Cassano are hardly typical CF's)

Livaja will probably be used in some deal involving Genoa....

We have to wonder who was the fucktard who used back then Castaignos on the wing though snakey.

Thankfully we have a coach now who won't fail and make such a childish tactical move.So Livaja gets as should participation time and shows that he's a good alternative simultaneously restin our main striker Milito.

Truth is that we should see much more Livaja to judge if it is able to offer more than just another option.

Funny though. Casta played more as a centre striker, then we play him wide.

Livaja played more of a support/wide striker and now we play him central :D

In a recent interview Strama said, that he chose Livaja instead of Longo, because Marko can be good in 15-20 minutes, while Longo needs to play more minutes to show his quality.

It makes sense as wingers perform much better in central positions than strikers in winger position.

Messi/Ronaldo have all been converted at one point to a more central position and they performed much better than they did on the wing, and for strikers other than Eto'o I can't remember anyone who performed well as a winger..

Players who have been playing as strikers tend to miss all winger skills such as speed, dribbling and passing abilities which makes them awful wingers.

I think Livaja has that little something special cause he impressed whenever he came in and often scored.

Good brace tonight, would almost say he didn't deserve a hat trick because that was a crap shot, but still, shoulda had it.

Looking much improved, too, and glad to see him finally score with not his head.
