Sanchez is regaining his fitness. I am pretty sure Inzaghi prefer to give minutes to Sanchez when we are comfortably lead

why not both!

:) but I don’t get why we don’t give this kid a half. Take out Lautaro let him rest and see what he can do.

As much as I want to see him play, I’m glad he didn’t come on. I don’t believe in believe in sympathy minutes for youngsters when nothing is on the line.

why would they be sympathy mins?

if being up 6-0 doesn't warrant a kid who masturbates six times a day i dunno what would, just get him used to some real minutes and maybe he'll surprise us

like ADRossi said, fuckin Italian managers man

You guys forgetting we had a forced sub today? If Dzeko doesn’t come on he probably gets minutes assuming the game goes the same way (which we’ll never know). However once Dzeko comes on as a sub he’s never getting subbed off. Not by Inzaghi for sure, and in general no one really does that to a well respected veteran player that’s a model professional.

So to bring him on we either needed to not give Sanchez minutes or change our formation. We need Sanchez, especially now that Correa is hurt. It’s unfortunate for Satriano but we’re in the business of winning now. I also don’t think we should be changing the formation to give a youngster a few minutes when we’re still getting used to Inzaghi’s tactics.

Today just wasn’t his day unfortunately.

Considering how many minutes Esposito and Pinamonti get from Conte, i consider Satriano is very lucky.

If we didn't have a forced sub, then maaaaybe he could play... but what Inzaghi did was right.

He will get his chances. Dzeko and Sanchez are both very injury prone, and its a long season. If nothing else, hopefully he will get some minutes in Coppa.

We own 3 interesting attacking talents in Satriano, Mulattieri and Esposito, the latter two have had a great start in Serie B and Swiss League. If even 1 of these 3 develops into a starting striker for Inter, I would consider this a great success.

Satriano doesnt interest me at all. He needed to be loaned out this season. 2 years younger, he might have a chance. But if he wants to be on track, he needed a regular first team season this season at some level, with a decent goal tally, OR rotation player at Serie A before a full flight of Serie A next seaason. As it stands, he'll be 21 by the end of this season with very little professional football at all in his career. He'll be lucky to be a professional player in 5 years IMHO.

I have high hopes for Mulattieri, given how he's tearing up Serie B tbh, and Esposito. I dont know what his longer term position on the pitch will be, though. Maybe an attacking AMC?

I think this is a bit much. He obviously has a ton of talent. He will be a professional 😂. Will he play at Inter or in Serie A is tough to say. Maybe he will end up back in South America or something.

honestly, look at our average youth product. Dell'Agnello was FAR more impressive that Satriano ever was - now at a middle Serie C club. Longo, same. Mid table Serie B.

Our average youth product is semi-pro at best. And, to be clear, on minutes of first team experience vs age, Satriano is way, WAY behind the curve. By any reasonable metric (goals in the primavera, minutes of first team experience, etc), he's way behind the developmental curve. The ONLY thing he has going for him is tht Inzaghi for some reaason likes him.

I understand, however none of those players ever looked as good as Satriano did during preseason. Dell’Agnello especially. Satriano also just looks a better athlete. I agree he should have been loaned but I don’t think he will end up a semi-pro player.

I don't understand this kind of thinking at all. Because statistics say X, then it's useless to expect Y to happen. Statistics and averages are based on big sample sizes, they don't tell the truth. There are always outliers. And I don't think is there even big sample size for Inter youth strikers making it to first team from the Primavera.

Satriano might as well become a Serie A player, nothing stops him from doing that. It's not like scouting system in the world is so effective that it always spots the certain level of talent for certain competition levels ie. now Satriano was scouted "late" and then played with kids so late so there is very few chances he would make it at Serie A level anymore. I just don't buy this theory. I believe there is a ton of inefficiency in this system and lot of talent will go unnoticed.

Not saying Satriano will make it but I really wouldn't put too much emphasis on these statistics. My eye-test tells me Satriano was better than for example Pinamonti this preseason and Pinamonti has quite a few Serie A preseasons already.

It's a bit unfortunate for Satriano if he doesn't get one fucking minute in competitive match. I guess Inzaghi wanted minutes to Sanchez against Bologna so Satriano didn't get his shot, let's hope we're gonna have more matches like that so Satriano might get chance.

the statistics are what give us the truth, ultimately. It's not like our youth team has a good record of producing players, either - I would rather we played the law of statistics with everyone above 18 and start to cut harshly rather than keeping people like Mei, Andreolli, Longo on the books long long after they've developed into nothing. If we had a track record of developing players, then I'd say fuck the statistics, let the expert do their job. But so far, our track record is dropping Ca$h on people like Colidio, Tassi, etc, who make less impression than a fart in the wind.

We can talk about hidden talent, but there are *so few* examples of it. IIRC, not a single one of our current team were not starting at a top flight team when they were 20 or 21. I haven't, but I'd bet you could do those numbers for any major team and you'd find similar stats.

As I always say, football is a cruel sport, you can afford one bad season but that's about it.

The only other player I can think of who has 21/22 without ANY first team experience at all, anywhere, is Gabriel (The ex Milan keeper who made his debut for Brazil).

If Satriano wanted a proper career, this or last season needs to be his breakout season. He should have pushed for a loan.

Remember, its not just about talent. As football gets bigger, and money increases, more people want to move into the sport. Talent becomes less important - thats why the unprofessional but talented footballers are so much rarer than they even were 10, 20 years ago. Because EVERYONE is talented now, it comes down to work rate and experience. Look at Mulattieri as an example - he's 4 months older, and will probably close this season with >5000 minutes of professional top football. And he's REALLY impressed in those as well - 18 in 30 in his first professional season, 5 in 4 in this season in Serie B.
