I remember the day when Moratti had bought over Inter, like it was yesterday. We were so excited, the son of the legendary Angelo Moratti, the prodigal son had returned. We were expecting an immediate return of Il Grande Inter. And his first signing was a relatively unknown lad called Javier Zanetti. We wanted more, we wanted world class stars, we expected the world.

And he granted all our wishes from that point of view, but what happened in the next two decades under Massimo, no one could have predicted. A billion spent on players, 2 world record transfer fees, some crazy highs and lows. And finally it all paid off...

For investing millions even when his family wealth was fast eroding, never abandoning us even when all looked lost... for that he will always be Inter's No 1 fan.

Grazie Moratti. There's been lots of ups and downs over the years with you as owner but one can never doubt your love for Inter. There's not many owners in professional sports that are true, devoted supporters of the club they own.

Fuck, when I started supporting Inter him and Zanetti were already here. Moratti is leaving and I'm sad, when Capitano will retire too, I think I will kill myself.

When I started to follow football (~1997), Moratti was already here. I believe we were very lucky to have such an educated, intelligent, passionate and rich man as club owner. Don't even joke with the suicide, man! Especially NOW that it's your responsability to pass our beloved club's philosophy to your future son.

I don't even know HOW to thank him from the bottom of my soul for what he did for this club. I never had any football players as a role model, I would rather choose Massimo Moratti as a role model. He always had the full support of our fan base because everybody saw this sincere passion in him - it's like one of our fans had the chance to aquire and run the club! So at the end of the day, we all know he honestly made the choices for the good of the club. He's THE #1 INTER FAN no matter what. These kind of presidents are rare to find in today`s modern football - which gradually became more of a business rather than a sports competition. Some people tend to forget that we are all human and anybody can make mistakes. Nobody said he's the best CEO/general manager, nobody can win forever. I respect and admire him the most for his his exemplary character, unaltered moral values and his tenacious perseverance to win within the rules while fighting evil forces!

He achieved great things while being the majority stakeholder, and he made history in football. Moratti is said to have spent around €600 million in the transfer market, so no one can label his INTER as a "selling club". World class players usually play for top clubs, so it's certainly not Ronaldo the reason for why I started supporting this club. As I'm not a glory hunter, I joined this adventure back when juBentus was cheating and stealing BIG TIME. When you wanted to see some (Divine) Justice served. When frustration turned into love.

But this was not the most important aspect that turned ME into an INTERNAZIONALE FANATIC. It was the STATUS of this club, the NOBLE AURA that always surrounded our club. It Moratti's diplomatic and grateful personal imprint, that made this club DIFFERENT from all other clubs in Italy, if not in the entire World. Treating the players and the staff as family members. Being always correct and fair-play regarding the Federation, referees and even opponents. This gentleman here kept alive INTER's special DNA!

I believe very few in Moratti's financial position would have stayed OUT of the match-fixing, referee corruption and betting scandals through the years in Italy, especially when you KNOW what's going on and and you see that nothing changes from one season to another! This is a true warrior`s spirit. A holy one if you want.

I can only hope for such a person in the future of our club. A person that puts the club above his wealth, health and sometimes even his own family! A true fanatic. This is the philosophy that needs to be preserved and passed ON - in order to keep our historical identity.
