The reason is the lack of general direction in the club.

It is obvious now that since the start of the season and the overall target was not identified by our board. They, by free will, opted to sign a young inexperienced manager to lead the team while fully knowing of his shortcomings in handling such duty and pressure. At the heart of the season we saw ourselves 2nd and chasing Juve with a single point, thus the thirst of the title woke up prematurely. After the declining phase began we searched for ways to patch things up in regards to our unreal expectations adn squad personnel. Moratti finds himself at the end of the season with nothing but a far-fetched dream of climbing the 3rd spot...

What did they expect from Stramaccioni? What did they expect from the team that was drained from energy in the last three years in front of their eyes? From the staff, coaches, and the players. A young man who will come and challenge for the title? He isn't' Allegri with his experience, and he certainly isn't Conte with his understanding of the game and intensity of this level of football as a player.

I said before the game today, that I trust Stramaccioni to start him against Bologna and Sampdoria next. I will trust him until those two games, and if Kovacic in particular doesn't start; then that is the end of the trust.

Yeah. He brought the ball forward very well as the last man in midfield. Very courageous playing, too bad when he had skipped one guy, he needed to make the pass but there were no one around. Work in progress when it comes to cohesion in the team. Hopefully others can support Kovacic better in the future.

the boy is 18, if he get minutes to play and rest from here to there, is still acceptable. we don't have to burn him and make him the lifesaver of the team. rotates him with gargano or cambiasso is still good solution. we should try to pair benassi and kovacic in middle more with guarin to influence/lead the two youngster.

what irritates me is that till now we do not exactly has a good or consistent playing style that can be used for next season. we are so consistently inconsistent. :closeenough:

Even though he played 40 mins lesser than anyone, he won 6 tackles (joint first) and 5 interceptions (joint first).

Only Zanetti, Juan Jesus and Cambiasso made more passes than him.

You don't even need stats to tell how good he was today. Very good performance and really great for player of his age.
