Kovacic's assist for Palacio last night was phenomenal. That, imho, was better than any assist Coutinho ever gave anyone at Inter (that I can remember). It'll take something to beat the free kick (or was it two?) that Coutinho scored as they were quite impressive, but that fucking assist

Great pass and vision, you can see he was looking ahead before Cambiasso headed the ball to him.

Would like to see him continue to impose himself more into the game, he sort of faded in and out during the game, but that's to be expected from an 18 yr old who's playing his second club game for his new club.

Also would like to see him playing with Kuzmanovic, would be more interesting than just playing alongside two ball winners.

agreed. tbh i dont mind players who fade in and out a bit, if you fade out for 30 minutes then the defenders tend to switch off of you a bit more and look at you as less of a threat, thus giving you a bit more space. its a tactic some players use for sure. like palacio. whether its intentional or not there i dont know, though

Would it sound crazy if I said Kovacic at 18 is better than Xavi when he was 18?

Freddy Adu at 16 was much better than Xavi at 16. Doesnt mean anything.

What I really like about this kid is that he is always looking for the ball and get involved. He goes searching for it, is not afraid to take players on, remains calm and makes simple passes. What a level head for a 18 year old.

That video does not have some of his sloppier touches from the game against Cluj, but bravo to him for a great game and hopefully his first of many points!
