two reports emerge for the possible return of Kovacic. i have stated it few times that i would love to welcome him back. it's true that he's been stalling but you just cant rule out his technical skills. he will become additional ammunition on our midfield. he can give us more options and tactical display which is not provided by Gagliardini and Vecino. with the right approach i'm sure he'll shine again. we just need to find good deal. 22 million at max would be the right price. and Aussilio has been known as a fan of Kovacic.

he is just 25 years old. more rooms for change and improvement i believe.

Kovacic’s Agents Offer Him To Inter & Bayern Munich

Mateo Kovacic’s agents have offered to him to both Inter and Bayern Munich according to a report from FCInterNews.it.The Croatian joined Chelsea in the January transfer window and the Premier League club had an option to make the move permanent for €29 million. However, due to their transfer ban, they will now be unable to do this which means Kovacic will return to the Spanish capital at the end of the season.

Zinedine Zidane seemingly doesn’t rate Kovacic which had led to his representatives offering him out to Inter and Bayern but neither club have shown any real interest in working something out.The report goes on to state that Inter are meanwhile closely watching Sassuolo’s Stefano Sensi and initial talks have already taken place with his agent over a potential switch. He fits the bill in terms of being both young and Italian, something Inter’s management are after but they are not alone in courting him.Milan and Barcelona have also been keeping tabs on the €25 million rated midfielder.

Kovacic Could Possibly Make Inter Return

Inter have made an initial enquiry about the availability of Mateo Kovacic according to a report from Corriere dello Sport. The Croatian left Inter for Real Madrid a few years ago but has failed to cement his place as a regular starter in the Los Blancos team.He was loaned to Chelsea this season with a redemption option attached however due to Chelsea’s transfer embargo, his stay will not be made permanent and he will return to the Spanish capital in the Summer.

In the coming weeks, Inter and the relevant parties will explore the feasibility of any potential deal, which is expected to largely depend on Inter’s qualification to the Champions League. The Nerazzurri wish to strengthen their midfield during the Summer transfer window and are looking for a midfield partner for Marcelo Brozovic. The Rome based newspaper report that it will take at least €30 million to prize him away from the Bernabeu and this could have an affect on how things go, especially given Kovacic isn’t the only player that Inter are tracking.

I really hope we don't bring him back. Sensi, Barella and Tonali would be better purchases for the same amount.

Kovacic wont create a bidding war and I can see tonali and barella going way higher than their worth. Tonali is the real gem for me, but kovacic interests me. Ge was his best at inter till mancini made him a trequartista.

Kovacic-Brozo as double pivot and 9golan-Barella fighting for the AM spot would be the best.
But that means we sell Vecino, which is not going to happen as Spalletti loves him.

Didn't he fail at Chelsea as well? Why waste money for nothing? Get barella :yao2:

Kova is best when he plays....in the same role as Brozo. Except if we bring him for a bench option, I don't see how he would help us. I don't trust him enough to be better than Vecino (except at passing) and definitely not better than Gags or Nainggolan.

At this moment I have to agree with our FIF friends, who would like at least two of Tonali, Sensi or Barella here (if we somehow get money for them)

I am talking about roles. Gags is somekind of makeshift DM/Bros helper, and at the moment he is the only one in our squad that can play in that role. Vecino is a B2B, Valero basically slows the tempo of the game,...

So yeah, IMO Kova is not really the right fit for Gags role.

Don't get this hype about Tonali and Barella. The former is too young and overpriced for Inter. He is also registra and most probably will be a substitute for Brozo, which makes spending a lot of money for him, pointless. Barella is also quite overpriced for me. He is fine prospect but for 50mln we need a player ready to deliver now. And i'm not fascinated by the idea of Brozo-9n-Barella midfield. We need an AM, who is actually attacking midfielder. Not some converted to AM player like 9n.

Why not both? I hope we get two of those three Italians and a proper creative player. Doesn't have to be AM tho. Would even be up for getting Ljajić back, if nothing else is availlable.

By two of those three i hope you mean Barella and one of Tonalli and Sensi. Tonali and Sensi basically play in the same position so it would make no sense to get both.

Remember this is the same player tasked by ZZ to mark Messi. The only thing gags has over kova is heading and attacking the pk area. A double pivot would work perfectly as ive argued before. I'd take only barella over kova if we can avoid a bidding war with EPL clubs. Funny guys trying to argue a serie b and a sassuolo player are better than Kova smh

Is Kova an actual realistic option for Inter to sign?

An important statistic that we should keep in mind is that in forty matches, Kovacic has only managed two assists and no goals.

That pretty much sums it for me. There is a reason why Inter sacrificed and allowed him to leave and we should not take steps to bring him back.

Fifty million or thereabouts is too much for a player whose role is ill defined and fails to consistently impact the games in which plays.

The fact that Chelsea are not going to make the move permanent and Real Madrid are not renewing his contract says alot about his career and his status as a world class midfield player.
