Everytime we missed these two and played with Valero we looked dreadful.

I don't know... every time we needed Valero he played great as I remember. You are little harsh on him... And well... it's not like we outplayed Milan with Vecino in midfield :D

I wanted to write about the Vecino/Gagliardini issue. I always want to keep these two. They are not world class, true, but what other bench options could we get?

Everytime we missed these two and played with Valero we looked dreadful. With these two at least we look somewhat competent. They provide a much needed depth.

I would rather us sign someone like Tonali and a DM and move Brozo forward as a CM option and DM backup. Then we could let both of them go and be better off for it.

Regarding Vecino today, he looked a lot better once we had control of the midfield and he had freedom to run beyond lukaku and Eriksen

Adding to the narrative:
- In the last 4 derbies Vecino has played, he's contributed 2 goals and an assist.
- In the last 9 games Vecino has played, we've won every single one of them.

I don't even know what to say. I hate seeing him on the football pitch, my brain can't process these numbers.

I didn’t like Spalletti or the players he brought but Vecino has proved many times that he was a great signing. When Conte benched him we dropped many points. So he should stay because I have my doubts about most of the players Marotta goes after in midfield (Barella is an exception).

He will probably shine in EPL. Really good in bringing the ball forward. Kinda like cancelo, fast on the ball

Really hoping he leaves in the summer. He's probably the one midfielder that we can get decent money for (obviously not including guys like Barella and Brozovic who need to stay), especially from an EPL team.

I can't even be too hard on him as he tries hard but just isn't good enough at certain things. Even his counter-attacks - he doesn't do anything obviously "wrong", but everything is just too slow. Even when he makes the correct pass to the wing, I feel like typically the pass is either too slow or behind the player, meaning the receiving player has to backtrack to receive that pass, therefore the opposing defence has more time to get back. He's useful in certain situations but it's really hard to dominate the midfield when you have a player like Vecino. Ideally, Sensi would be starting if Conte isn't yet willing to have Eriksen be in the first 11, but I'm not expecting too much from Sensi for the rest of this season to be honest.

If we sell Vecino, we need to replace him with SMS. Gonna be costly, but we need that physicality. I wouldn't sell Vecino lightly though.

Costly or not we should do that. Even if Vidal is old we could replace Vecino with Vidal and be much better for it.

This guy is a big problem. He just offers so little - it's tough to be a top team and have him starting games. He's also considered a big game player on this forum, which is mainly due to a few goals he's scored in big games, despite not really playing well. Our 2 biggest games (last 2 away games vs. Lazio/Juventus) he's been terrible and had a big role to play in both Sergej's and Ramsey's goals, while offering nothing offensively.

Unexplainable for someone I would consider to be an effort player to be flat out beaten to the end line by Matuidi. Matuidi had no business beating him to that ball, at the very least he should have just conceded a corner. That type of stuff from a guy who literally brings nothing else to the table in terms of quality is just unforgivable.

Matuidi had a shot in the first half that forced a good save from handa, which came from vecino just not tracking him at all. Got to think of we had a proper DM, like a matic, we would never see this guy again and it would free up our other midfielders
