Back to Spalletti's era.

Hey, under Spalletti we qualified twice in two years for the CL, even if in a last-minute, anxiety-inducing manner. If we have to go back to an era from the previous decade I can only hope it's Spalletti's era.

It's best for everyone if he moves on.

Gds - Vecino and Sensi are staying. There will also be an Eriksen replacement.

If Sensi is staying, aren't we also going to need a replacement for him, given that he only plays 2 games per season?

I guess they are thinking he wont get injured, idk. Looks like the midfield will be Barella, Brozo, Sensi, Gagliardini, Agoume and Calhanoglu. I still think Vidal will be gone, as his wages are just too big.

That’s a weak ass bench considering sensi will be injured most of the time.
I would keep vidal around to be honest.

German midfielder Demme suffered a serious knee ligament injury during Napoli’s preseason friendly against Pro Vercelli yesterday, and FCInterNews.it report that coach Luciano Spalletti will turn to Vecino as his replacement.

Spalletti worked with the Uruguay international during his own tenure at the helm of Inter, between 2017 and 2019, and the coach would be open to reuniting with him at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Vecino struggled to establish himself as a starter for Inter last season under former coach Antonio Conte, having fought back from a serious knee injury of his own, and was limited to just eight league appearances for the champions.

The 29-year-old’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, is believed to have already been in contact with Napoli over a potential switch, as the Partenopei work on contingencies in the event that Demme is ruled out for much of the season.

> Fingers crossed this club is finally capable of selling him! His current market value is only 8m, as his contract is expiring next year.

I don't think he's gonna be sold.

And I don't want him sold, if we can get like less than 10m€ for him. Napoli do not have money for 10m€+ signings as they missed the CL. I rather keep Vecino as that pushes Gagliardini futher in the pecking order. Even if they are a bit different kind of players. I can still see a role for Vecino in this team. If we can play in a way which minimizes Vecino's ball touches in the build-up, the better. His box runs are good and he scores goals with them.

Vecino is a turd. Gags is watery diarrhea. At the end of the day they're both shit but if you have to pick one its Vecino
I agree with that until I see Vecino play for an extended period of time. Then I think Gags is better until I see him play for an extended period of time.

Gags definitely not better than Vecino. Maybe if we play exactly like with Conte which I doubt will happen.

They're both dogsh*t, but Gagliardini at least is available and actually tries on the pitch. Vecino has been here since the first Spalletti season and other than two or three goals that season and the Tottenham goal in CL, he is useless, hides on the pitch and manages to avoid criticism that way.

Plus Vecino is injury prone and it's not going to get better seeing that he suffers/suffered of pubalgia.

Here we go again with the endless and pointless debate about Gagliardini and Vecino. They're both shit and they both have no business playing for Inter.

Vecino can only make forward runs to opponent box. That's it. He is a defensive liability and he can only be useful against midtable teams or as a scoring threat late in the games when we desperately need a goal. And even his goal scoring ability is overhyped because of his important clutch goals in the past.

Another thing we need to add about Vecino is he has been an injury prone in the last two years so even his availability would be in question in case he stayed. He also earns 2.5m net per season.

As for Gagliardini, unless we face teams from the beautiful city of Genoa, he offers absolutely nothing. No defensive security, no physicality, no forward runs, no great passing, no vision, no goals, no assists. Nothing at all. He's just there and he's usually available.

A normal team would try to offload Vecino this summer and either offload Gagliardini next summer or keep him as a 7th midfielder, due to his low wages, and use him either only against the bottom of the table or in case of an injury crisis. But we aren't a normal team so i wouldn't be surprised if both of them ended up staying and either, or even both, of them had an important role in the upcoming season.

We all agree that they are both shit. But when it comes down to saving our skin, Vecino made us enter 2 CL. While Gagliardini missed to score a goal 1 meter away from the goal season 19/20. And this is enough for me to ship Gagliardini away and keep Vecino but the falcao law is strong in us after Conte joined.
