The way people acted when we got this guy must have been an anti-jinx move. We should do that to every new player, I'm starting to like this guy.

Play him at LWB whenever possible. Sick of seeing Young's face.

Had a great moves. He should be fixed at the left wing. No more EPL-dummy Young and garbage Ivan.

He's average.

That still makes him more useful than several other players.

Easily our second best wing back tho. I had no hopes for him, but he proved me wrong. I'd say he is above average, even good player.

We should play him as LWB while Hakimi is RWB and no other way around.

Well taken goal today. So far Darmian has nothing but solid and dependable. Kinda like Young was last season when he came over.

Just realised that all three goals were scored by the former Man U crew. Only young was missing.

Darmian is perfect back up wingback so far. Reliable, cheap and doesn't whinning for more playing time.

I would like to apologize to Mr. Ausilio, Mr. Marotta and Mr. Conte for laughing and crying my ass off when I heard we were going for Darmian.

He has been quite good indeed and him being able to play on both sides is a plus (to cover our dearth in the WBs department), though he's still quite shite on the left.

Low cost backup for several positions, I don't mind this one. He isn't as bad as some of you are making him out to be. IMO he is like another D'Ambrosio, its good to have a few such players on the bench. Specially in a season where we may have big absences due to COVID-19.

My frustration with this transfer window is Inter failing to add some quality players where we have clear gaps. Like a starting LWB, a quality DM and perhaps a decent back up striker. I guess we are really skint. Also failing to get rid of some deadwood. Perhaps people are channelling their frustration about these issues on to Darmian.

I had said this from the beginning. Darmian was always a decent transfer.

The objections on Darmian over the years came because he was proposed to be a starter. I don't think he'd be vilified as a transfer if that wasn't built up over the years.

This reminds me how well he started for United, but then faded, but luckily he isn't here to be a starter. He has the "luck" to play in the same position as Hakimi

Our next D'ambrosio

Lukaku was average at United. I wouldn't use United as a benchmark for any player post SAF. The club has been in chaos. For eg: Initially Darmian was ok at United, but when Luke Shaw got injured/fat, Darmian was largely used as LB. He is useless at LB. At RB/RWB he is not half bad, specially as a bench option. Since last summer we spent our entire budget on Hakimi, it was obvious that we are getting Darmian as back up, so a decent transfer IMO.

Darmian is now playing more like how he was at Torino, where he was really promising at RB.

I just hated him because we were linked to hi
For 10 years. It just makes it seem like our transfer team doesn’t do their jobs. We are linked to the same 4-5 assholes for 10 years. We stop hearing about them when they finally retire

I admit I vilified him upon the news of his arrival. Never did I expect that he would turn into a very reliable backup for both wings and even gives a run for a competition of the starter spot. In my defence, he was extremely unconvincing during his period in MU. Once a MU fan said that Darmian is the most boring fullback ever donned their jersey and I agree with him after watching him several times.
I just have no idea how we could transform him into another player. Lukaku and Alexis are the improved version to their MU stint, but Darmian is simply a different player. Regular MU watchers would never expect Darmian to aggresively overlap let alone to make dangerous run inside penalty box to take a shot.

I wish that chip went in after 1-2 with Kaku. Could be a great goal.

he played well, it's one of the good things of having a player with zero expectations built around him, everything he does exceeds your expectation

I am not sure Conte considered Darmian as a Hakimi backup from the beginning as he also wanted to sign Moses. Moses didn't stay at Inter only because we couldn't offload Nainggolan. Moses himself has confirmed it.

Moses was very good for us against small teams. I won't mind him even now.
