Why are we the only ones that can see it? It is a horrible state of affairs when your club cannot find a replacement for a declining 33 year old that has very little to offer other than simply occupying a space in the squad. It's time to move on. He's been in steady decline since Conte left and is already 33 years old. Sizeable wage cut or GTFO.
Darmian is a perfect backup player. He can backup multiple positions if absolutely needed (RWB, LWB, at least RCB, maybe even LCB). That's valuable and with the growth decree still applicable, he's a cheap, versatile option. I see no problems keeping him.Why are we the only ones that can see it? Because we're broke, sure. Any reasonable club would move on. He offers nothing on the pitch these days.Darmian is a perfect backup player. Alternative is to let him walk and find a new player, possibly having to pay money for the fee and maybe bigger salary. And with our financial capabilities probably that alternative won't be even better and most probably not as versatile.
He offers the experience and reliability. Nothing fancy but beggars can't be choosers etc. etc.Because we're broke, sure. Any reasonable club would move on. He offers nothing on the pitch these days.
Yep, honestly one of our best signings the last few years. He's been great whenever called upon.No comment for this guy? He did a great job against Leao, just like he had done against Kvara.
