Most underrated medal must be granted for Darmian. Everyone saw him as a trash bin from ManUtd, to a reliable RWB, then now a Skriniar replacement. Who else could have expected that two years ago? What an awesome deal.

I'm glad to admit that I was mistaken about him and Acerbi.
Both were deemed virtually meme-worthy signings, iirc there was a joke that even if he played in Azerbaijan's fourth division, we would still pursue him. Look how it turns out.
To be fair, both came in as backups, as many assumed, but they outperformed expectations on the field. What an underrated professional.
It's normal to plan for their successor, but perhaps they can continue to play at a high level for a few more seasons, whether as starters or backups.

This guy is the underrated her0. I hope, I won't jinx him, but he is the best defender on 1-1 situation. He proved against Roma once again, where the opponents just couldn't pass him.

Tactical wise he's just too good. So good that he could probably teach others how to get the best out of themselves when it comes to positioning and timing. Sometimes it's not enough if you are only fast but can't get to use your speed, or if you are strong but can't get to use your strength and so on.

Football is mostly on perfect timing and positoning, and Darmian is VERY good at this.

Masterclass signing. Acerbi and Mkhi too. Marotta isn’t perfect and neither is Inzaghi but they are getting the maximum out of players that most consider way past their best.

His performances have made me completely forget about the pain and hurt of losing Skriniar to another club and his subsequent injury.

Not only that, but after he was pushed, Leao used his arm to control the ball. It was a double foul, unseen by the referee. Their first attempt, the Diaz shot, came after a foul against Barella. It was not called again. Actully that were the only two good chances, which Milan created for a whole match.

Yeah, Theo's challenge on Barella was a blatant foul, still can't believe how that wasn't given a foul and a yellow card. I'm okay with referee making a mistake here and there, as long as it's a close call, but these calls were just way too much.

Low cost backup for several positions, I don't mind this one. He isn't as bad as some of you are making him out to be. IMO he is like another D'Ambrosio, its good to have a few such players on the bench. Specially in a season where we may have big absences due to COVID-19.

I remember most people hating it when we signed Darmian even though he was almost for free. I always liked Darmian, but even I wasn't expecting too much out of him when we signed him. If someone would tell me this guy would so seamlessly replace Skriniar against the best teams in Europe, I wouldn't have believed it.

What an inspired signing Darmain has turned out to me, one of Marotta's best!
