Another Darmian vintage performance. Quietly getting things done. No drama. Solid af

hes a remarkable staple at inter tbh. I alwayds like D'ambrosio in much the same way. Reliable, not spectacular, but a good player that will be a great servant for the club. Have to say I Wasnt happy when he first joined, but he's been so reliable for almost 5 years now

I don't take fif opinions on arriving players too seriously after him tbh. Everyone was shitting on this guy before he set foot at Inter, disgrace. Similar to Acerbi, Mkhi etc. Judge a player after he plays, not before.

For some reasons I think he is better than D'ambrosio, but I cannot point out why. Like D'ambrosio has his fair share of far post goal too, but I feel like Damian brings more to the game.

Scored the match winning goal. Helped keep a clean sheet. Played the full match with cramps. Zero thank you from you ungrateful bastards 🙃
This is how I feel about the SDV thread before he started stumbling a bit last year. Dude would be a rock for months and no one would say anything until he fucked up once lol.

De Vrij didn't stumble last year, you must mean about 3 years ago? De Vrij was pretty solid last year (2024)

I still don't know what a "natural" position is for an arm in the eyes of a referee at the moment.

To me, that incident with Darmian isn't a penalty. There's no way to turn without the arms coming out. In addition, the ball isn't even going toward the goal. The problem is that there is a precedent in Italy with this new rule.

The rule is left that open to interpretation that it differs between countries. Considering this is a new rule, it's a bit of a clusterfuck.

Seeing how we were gifted a corner from which we scored, them getting a penalty felt fair. Usually a light contact when the ball is going away from the goal isn't given as penalty, but in this case it's fair. We won the game in the end, 2:1 was deserved

I don't agree with this.

We were gifted a corner. Not a goal, not a penalty, not even a freekick in dangerous position. A corner. That's more like "shit happens" kind of thing than a gift.

We just happened to score from that particular corner so it became bigger thing than it really was. Palladino made a fool out of himself by complaining about that.

Yup. Inter didn't even touch the ball, Fio's player scored for us :D

Blame your kid, Palladino.

Cafe, this is your bias showing. If they scored from a corner like that, I would be fuming. Every little mistake like that can turn the tide, can add extra pressure. And we needed just that one corner to score.

Like I said, karma got us back, but then we scored again, so it's okay.

But that's far from fair. A slight advantage for us vs a gifted goal for Fio.

Holding a girl's hand is not comparable to sleeping with her :D you get what I mean.

The ridiculous thing is that small mistake covers all the headlines and the bigger one just gets entirely ignored.

Fr. Football-italia keep feeding my news feed for 2 days with their propaganda against us "Controversial inter's goal .. yada .. yada".

We conceded from a bit similar thing against Leverkusen in CL (offside not called, resulted a corner, they ended up scoring from that, not directly but the play happened because of the corner). There wasn't big fuss made out of it. Sometimes shit just happens.

It wasn't blatant, this wasn't blatant. VAR cannot intervene, so that's the end of it.

Precisely this. The ridiculous penalty call, APPROVED BY VAR, gets overshadowed by a ref mistake which cannot be fixed with a VAR as per the rules (which is just fair). The issue is they use a VAR and STILL make the wrong call, should be the headline here.

As ridiculous as the penalty call is, they will call it in Italy, at least consistently if ball gets into hand not near or close to body of defender. Doesn’t matter if defender is falling down motion or turning other side and hand not in control intentionally, even that how human body motion works naturally. Hence it doesn’t make headline.

The corner leading to goal shouldn’t be too controversial either. Not right call but it’s new turn play, you still have chance to defend it. Same as Leverkusen against us, same as any wrong free kick call leading to goal.

If it's a discussion about the dynamic and the distance between the header and the hand, I feel like it's definitely not crazy that the referee would give a penalty for that, because we got the same awarded on Gigot's handball, it was as close and he was turned around and falling so...
