Did he really say that? Not sure how I missed that, coz what I read was Conte saying:

“I made a technical decision for the Spinazzola-Politano transfer. That’s all I can say. After that, other things happened that are not under my purview, so you’d have to ask someone else. I was asked for my opinion, I gave it, that can be listened to or not."

I think Conte is implying that he gave the green light to the Spinazzola move from a technical point of view, but after that for some other reason it did not work out. Which makes sense, coz we can assume that the coach's technical opinion is taken much before a player travels for his medical.

Okay I guess I didn't get a proper translation then. That can be interpreted both ways though. But anyway still there is no one saying anything about medical reasons.

According to Sky, Roma approached Inter in order to sign Politano on loan with option to buy. Fuck them. Either they offer an obligation or they can forget about him.

Marotta on Spinazzola-Politano:

“The media talked about it exaggeratedly much. We have the maximum respect for Spinazzola who I know from juve, but we valued physical, technical, economical and medical parts.

After these valuations we chose to not conclude the negotiations”

Marotta:"This never happened before ?

I don’t agree, our former player Santon went through this three times. This isn’t the first time. Clubs evaluate players accurately and thoroughly.

The Spinazzola deal was worth 55 million euro’s, it’s only right to analyze everything”

Marotta: "Politano? The photo of him wasn’t made by us. Spinazzola didn’t take any photo with us, that’s a first reflection to consider.

We have the maximum respect for Politano and explained the situation to him yesterday. He’s our player and we’ll value his future carefully”

6 months ago, we could have told Sassuolo to fuck off and Politano would have been their problem.

We had no reason to redeem Politano. He wasn't good last year. He didn't do anything to show he was worth redeeming.

If we had broken our "gentleman agreement" with Sassuolo for Politano transfer, you think we would have got Sensi?

We should never have signed him, but that decision was made in 2018.

He was the only player who got us into the final 3rd when perisic, icardi, and radja decided to be part time contributors.

What good is getting us into the final third when you have 0 end product? He played 3 times as much as Keita did yet scored the same amount of goals.

Politano will never figure into a squad that has global aspirations. I agree, hes mostly shit, but he was never a problem for us. He fought on while our big names mailed it in. Respectable at the very least.

Petrachi, Roma sporting director, claimed he had an agreement with Ausilio over Politano-Spinazzola swap deal but Marotta blocked the deal.

So it was a fuckup by our part. Marotta "normalizes" it and yeah, these things happen, but that's not how a management of a serious club should work. Right hand doesn't know what the left hand's little finger is doing.

If that’s true, this shows how incompetent fuck Ausilio is.
I’ve always reserved my opinion about him all this years, but god, now a lot of fuck ups from him all this years make so much sense. Clueless gullible ignorant when it comes to handling transfers.
Send him back to the youth ranks where he belongs.
I’m done with this retard.

For what it’s worth, since you’re adamant to blame Marotta here, Petrachi said, there was a short circuit between Marotta and Ausilio.
That tells me, Ausilio made the deal, then Marotta stepped up and said, hold on a second, that’s not how it’s gonna happen.
So if anything, we need thank Marotta for this, not blame him.
Ausilio is an idiot who was gonna just throw 25 or 30 mil down the drain for a player made of glass.
Apparently Ausilio love to be fucked by Roma. Fucking prick.

Marotta stepped in and took the necessary steps to block a deal where we were getting a player that has played 2 full 90 minute games this season only. Rube got a shit ton of money for Spinazzola and his value has dropped almost half. Politano would have contributed way more for Roma than Leonardo for us. Ausilio is just a little too quick on the trigger button. Can't blame Marotta for this. Just cash in on Matteo and use the cash properly ffs.

Roma wants to take him on a loan, and unless we can get someone to buy him within the next few days, I would go with it.
At least he will get to play and his value will be higher in June than if he was to simply warm our bench and nothing else.

Yes we need to thank Marotta for intervening. But is Ausilio some rogue operator within our organization? He can do whatever he wants and Marotta is needed to stop him? Be serious, Marotta is CEO, he's the one responsible for the whole show which is going on. Of course he's to blame if there's some lack of communication or anything like that, he's the boss.

I've been saying right from the start that this looks unprofessional and blamed the management and I'm still saying it. Yet when the management is getting called out in this forum there's always people coming to defend with whatever reasons. Now that it turns out to be just like I said, still some scapegoats needs to be found. Ausilio fucked up but he's under the command of Marotta. There's no way out of that fact.

Let's not take for granted what Petrachi says it's the truth. I posted his words so we can have the officials positions of both sides. I find hard to believe Marotta suddenly decided he was against the deal when the players had already travelled to take their medicals.

Petrachi talked about emails so it's quite easy to prove.

Even if we believe Petrachi, it doesn't explain why Roma prevented further tests from Inter on Spinazzola.

Wasn't the final issue regarding us wanting to change the terms, as in getting Spinazzola strictly on a loan?
