I think it is exciting when a young player makes their first team debut!

I always think about how they must be buzzing, both during and after the game when playing with the first team.

"Speaking to InterTV after the match, the 18-year-old expressed his happiness at being able to come on during the second half of an emphatic 4-0 win over Cagliari in Serie A.

The Nerazzurri were in firm control of the match by the time Zanotti got onto the pitch, having gone ahead 4-0 and made absolute sure of the three points.

However, Zanotti’s presence hardly hurt the balance of the team, as the teenager shook off a couple hesitant early moments to really show his quality to put further pressure on the Rossoblu.

The teenager can now boast having made the jump up from the Primavera side to the first team and represented Inter at senior level for the first time, and it is a proud moment for him.

“There are no words,” he said after the match. “I thank the coach and his staff for the opportunity they gave me. Being in front of the full San Siro everything is unlike anything else.”

On comparisons to legendary former Inter captain Javier Zanetti with whom he almost shares a name, Zanotti stated that “He’s my hero. It’s nice, but it’s also difficult to be compared.”

On nearly assisting Alexis Sanchez when the Chilean hit the crossbar he stated that “It would have been the icing on the cake but the evening was still magnificent.”

On his dedication for the debut Zanotti named “My family, my friends, and my girlfriend. I thank all the people who have been by my side over the years.”

And on what coach Simone Inzaghi told him before he came on he said, “He said ‘don’t worry, just go out there and play your game.'”

Had a great debut, but basically every youth wingback I can think of has started off fantastically - everyone from Santon to Dickpic McGee.

I am not familiar with Dickpic McGee. I must have missed his debuit. Or maybe he debuted with a photograph in the Forza Inter Forums Whatsapp group!

I hope we will see more of Zanotti in the future.

Senna Miangue - I probably (re)landed myself on some government watchlist after searching for “Inter youth nudes story”

Basically the guy was posting photos of himself having sex or something along those lines.

He's on the bench today. I think this thread should be moved.

I thought he might get some minutes today. I was a bit disappointed Simone did not bring him on.

I think it says alot when a team is cruising with a 5-0 lead and the coach does not bring on any young players to give them some playing time.

I doubt we will see him again this season unless we wrap up Scudetto 20 early, he may even get a loan in January. Those 8 minutes might have been due to injuries / put him in shop window for a nice loan/experience.

Interesting to see him play at AZ because they play fairly attacking football but I'm glad I can watch him a bit closer and hope he will develop himself in Holland.

WHO IS INTER YOUNGSTER MATTIA ZANOTTI
Simone Inzaghi saw an opportunity to give minutes to 20-year-old Mattia Zanotti during the closing stages of Inter‘s 2-0 win over Lecce on Sunday afternoon. Here’s a profile of the emerging talent.

Zanotti came on for only his second appearance in Serie A in place of Robin Gosens in the 90th minute of the win over the Salentini in Milan. The 20-year-old was tasked with seeing out the final few minutes of the game from the wing-back position of Inzaghi’s 3-5-2.

Zanotti had made his debut for the Nerazzuri in the 82nd minute of the 4-0 win over Cagliari on 12 December 2021 but has had to wait over a year since his second appearance in the league. Within minutes, the youngster came within inches of marking his maiden outing in professional football with an assist, playing in Alexis Sanchez, whose eventual shot rattled off the crossbar.

Born in 2003, Zanotti primarily plays at right-back but his flexibility is said to be one of the promising youngster’s strongest characteristics, having been tried out on the wing and in midfield for Inter’s youth sides.

Zanotti was raised in Lontano Sul Garda in the region of Brescia and spent six years on the books of the Biancazzurri between the years 2011-17.
He completed his switch to Inter aged 14 and began representing the club’s under-15 side, before catching the eye of then-Primavera coach Armando Madonna.

Zanotti represented Inter at U18 level the following year, still only aged 16, drawing praise for his hard work, physical attributes and awareness on the pitch.

Nicknamed Il Trattore – or – the tractor – attesting to his physical attributes, Zanotti has been tipped as one to watch by the coaches at Inter’s youth development centre.

Now Zanottis is tasked with impressing Inzaghi with the eye of cementing a place in the first-team picture.
There is only one "Il Trattore" in my book.

I saw a lot of quality in him. Never seen him play before, but that short cameo against Lecce was more convincing than what Bellanova have shown in the whole season. Please don't waste him in exchange for some serie A mediocrities

I've seen him at the U19 team, as I'm watching primavera time to time, but he didn't impress me too much. He is like a pitbull and never stops or give up, so if he keeps this mentality, he could succeed in high level.
