I wonder how many footballers actually regularly watch football once they turn professional, or when they have "made it".

Far fewer than you'd imagine.

Bringing up an old silly argument that some protested over: more football players drink or smoke than watch football regularly on their spare time.

Granted a lot of them are forced to watch a lot of videos of games and situations during their working hours, not that many care.
And they may watch the team they support (at home) or somewhere a friend may play, but casual football watchers? Exteme minority.

His fall from grace is something special. Wow. He barely looks like a footballer these days at all, whereas we have only improved

I'm not sure about this fall from grace you mention. Look into the history of the biggest losers in the history of professional football where he's playing, or getting paid to be on the bench and all of their transfer seasons ever since they fell into money instead.

In his first season when he got loaned he started 7 CL games, scored 5 (PSG's leading scorer in that competition with Mbappe) then he got subbed on all of those games too. The rest of those games (2 last 16s, semifinals and final) he was put on the bench. In the league scored 12 goals and 3 assists, having played on 7 games with full time minutes from a total of 21

Second season his data is full of injuries - missed all the group games to the ligament knee injury, played 90 minutes in the last 16 against barcelona and assisted the goal on the second game. Quarter finals is injured again. Semis is left on the bench against City, and second game gets subbed on the 60th.
On the league, 17 games injured. 7 goals 4 assists. Only 7 full 90 minutes played out of 20 games he's started or got subbed in.

Next season, the primadonna comes. CL Plays 39 minutes on the first game of the group before he's subbed out. Benched the next game and not in the squad the next one. Gets subbed in for a whole 1 minute on the next one, bench again the next. Last game of the group comes, gets subbed in for a whopping 7 minutes. Last 16 they play Madrid, you guessed it - benched for both games.
On the league he plays 6 games for 90 minutes, 14 subs with minuscule minutes (8 minutes sub time and scores to give the fucks the victory with Lyon). 5 games he's just eating bench. Total goals: 4

We have improved yes, but our improvement has nothing to do with Icardi not being here but with Conte, better players and football philosophy. Whether you like it or not Icardi is your top modern goalscorer for this club overall, and #6 in a single season with 29 goals, something not even Ibrahimovic has done with you know what and when.

He's never said shit about Inter as a club himself. He may be a complicated person due to his wife but mostly he was quiet and hard working and has shed tears on the pitch against our rivals when we've lost, despite him carrying the team for years with his goals. Fall from grace all you want, but he's in our history whether me, you or anyone else likes it or not.

the will smith comparison is quite apt in fact. both put their wives happiness before their careers to their own detriment. you let a woman walk all over you and make the all decisions its wrap. Who would wanda be without icardi?

Psg fans can't stand him for his anonymous displays and he fell behind fucking choupo mouting in the pecking order.

He fought with the club every season looking a new contract. He thought he was above the club at that time, pulling a fake injury to get out of playing.

Also his fall from grace is obvious. Poster boy here, top scorer in the league, admired by fans everywhere, to now barely getting a kick at psg, regarded as a massive flop.

He has to come back to Italy, but I don't know who will take him. Maybe, Milan or jube, they like to collect leftovers.

I would see him going to Bilan. No way he’s going to jive with vlahovic if they are smart. But let’s hope they do to blow up their locker room harmony

It depends when he Will come back. In My opinion he Will eat all the salaries in contract with psg. After that he Will return in North Italy, but maybe at that time he Will be a Hellas level player

I can only see Icardi at Milan. Juve have Vlahovic. Inter can't be an option for obvious reasons. Napoli have Osimhen. Atalanta can't afford his salary. Roma have made a big investment on Abraham and they have bigger priorities. Despite his age Immobile is still killing it at Lazio. There's really nowhere else to go.

I don’t know actually, I think Napoli will probably sell Osimhen next summer? So maybe Napoli would be interested to get Icardi? I think Napoli would be good place to Icardi.

Doubt Milan would go for him. They're extremely strict on player salary. If napoli let osimhen go I could see that.

He'd also keep a much more positive relationship w inter fans if he went there over milan or juve, granted I doubt anyone cares at this point.
