GdS: #Icardi ready for renewal until 2021. He will earn about 5m, probably 80-100m clause will be inserted! #FCIM

Now Wanda will shut up, with the clause i think we will sell him next summer, maybe in Man City or United!

This clause thing is stupid. What stops the next market from being even more inflated than this current one?And 80-100 mil could soon become peanuts. If there has to be a release clause it should be upwards of 125 million at least.

This is a recipe for disaster because next year any club could give us this 80 mil and he is out.Giving him such a huge salary and watching him leave n a year makes no sense.

We should either have a massive release clause or no clause at all and be ready to hear bids for him and negotiate to get a better price when we sell him later on.I am very sure next year some Epl club/Real/Psg will be willing to pay more than 120 mil for players if they have a mediocre season this time.

You assume HE didnt ask for the release clause as part of the terms of a new contract. 80 mil is not going to be 'peanuts' in the next 3 or 4 years...

I would be 'ok with selling or keeping, both have positives. This guy will never go sour. He will bang in the goals this year with Candrevinho and Perisic on the side of him and Banega on the side of him.

Yeah, I'm sure he'll still score goals, and I'm sure we'll still have a disjointed attack that will struggle to score more than Torino

On a football and financial level, I'm indifferent to this guy's sale or renewal. Either direction is alright for Inter. However, I'm leaning towards his sale only because of the drama that him (as a captain) and his whore have stirred up this summer.

Curious if FFP has any impact on us after raising Icardi's salary?

If I remember correctly, from FFP side, if our financial situation is not significantly improved, we will have a salary cap about 90M
By signing banega, erkin, candreva, we probably have already well over it.
thats why we would like to have a late renewal, (after suning re-negotiate the parameter from UEFA ) and letting the whole wanda saga draging for a painful long time.
and thats also why we reluctant to give a significant pay rise to brozo.

Inter set €100m Icardi clause
By Football Italia staff

Reports are growing that Mauro Icardi will sign an Inter contract extension with a €100m release clause.

The striker had been the subject of offers around €60m from Napoli, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Chelsea this summer, while Juventus were also interested.

According to multiple sources, including Sky Sport Italia and La Gazzetta dello Sport, a decision has been made to extend his contract to June 2021.

Icardi is set to earn in the region of €5m per year.

The big difference will be the introduction of a release clause, allowing the striker to leave if a club pays the right price.

It was reported earlier this morning that the sum would be between €80m and €100m.

Now Sky Sport Italia and others suggest the final figure will be €100m – almost a world transfer record.

With such wages, this season at the very least, he must:

1) Capocannoniere
2) Score winning goals against Juventus, Roma, Napoli, EL final
3) Learn how to dribble past a player

I would think that if a release clause would be inserted it should be at least 150M.

Even if he does get to a potential better then what CR or Messi are at the moment " well lets just say he will never achive to that level. so 150 mill no one will pay for him. I am sure of that Inter is doing this to stop the nonsense from Wanda and then new owner think that Icardi will not be for the future.

Well if Inter sell him in the future they can sell him for less than the release clause if they negotiate but if they don't want to sell him and a team wants him at all costs and the player wants to leave, they would have to pay the high cost of the release clause regardless.

We have stroked his ego and given him every opportunity to become the player he is today, which IMO is still just a goal poacher. If we really did reject a bid of 60 million or more that's the worst mistake this club has made in a long time.
I agree, we have been far too kind so far with him.
But regarding that amount, we will have to see, time will tell. Considering today`s crazy transfer fees, perhaps the club believes he can be sold for €80m next season or maybe even €100m after 2 years, considering that now he has quality team-mates and a proper [attacking] coach. I mean we bought him, built the squad around him and we're making him a superstar. He's basically our product. It's ok for him to believe he's the superstar, forwards need high levels of self-confidence to keep scoring.

So he has everything here to succeed, who knows, maybe the club wants to keep him for his entire career. If I were him, I wouldn't leave either. :D

I know for a long time that Mancini has a soft spot for Gabbiadini, so it's really hard to tell. But Armes explained very well: SUNING could not 'afford' to sell Icardi at this point. It would have painted a negative picture of them for the majority of the fans...

lets wait for the season to begin and then judge him? :work:

guy will probably get plenty of service and we all know how deadly he can be.

---

also 5mil is reasonable in today's game. how much did milito get 5,5? 5 is more then acceptable imo. the guy is captain and our most hyped player

So, Inter put an 110mil clause just for the non-Italian teams? Why limit ourselves like that? If anything, we should put a clause for domestic teams 150mil! Also, this clause is only valid for cpl years of his contract? I'm kinda confused what kind of fucking contract is that

i think i'm getting an icardi jersey. not sure he can be capocannoniere because Higuain, but honestly his value will rise. at least 80 million if we negotiate well and he keeps scoring. we'll ship him off to EPL or barça/real when the time comes

The release clause is extremely smart, it tells other clubs this is what we value him at, and it allows the new management to sell him without looking weak (because they won't have any say in the matter, just like De Laurentiis must have laughed his way to the bank with €94m, while at the same time claiming he had no intention to sell Higuain).

€100m is enough to take a club to a completely different level and that's not changing any time soon, I can only pray someone triggers it.
