This was the game where we needed our captain to step up, and he failed.

Still though, he has been great for a majority of the season, and I wouldn't sell him.

He is the most useless captain i've seen in my life watching football.

We can discuss on his play style , whether he should move more , whether he should try create space for others etc but for sure he doesn't deserver that armband, Skriniar should absolutely get it next season

Really disgusting game from him. I thought he seemed disinterested for most of the match, and did not win a single physical challenge except for one when he miskicked.

He has scored a lot of goals but those misses today are inexcusable. That's the type of misses a lot of players are labelled as 'chokers' for. When you don't offer much else other than scoring, you can't be missing those changes. The thing is that it's obviously a mentality thing as you can usually tell when he'll have one of his awful matches. It was the same in the first round against Sassuolo, when he missed 2 sitters before missing a penalty.

I don't think this is a knee-jerk reaction, but I'm okay with selling him for good money. Not because I don't think he's a great player, but I think it's obvious it hasn't worked out in the sense of us actually getting somewhere relevant. He has too many holes in his game and we're not a team that can great 5-10 chances for our striker consistently.

oh please, he does not deliver in big games.

This was a fucking big game because of the 28 goals hef ucking scored. I hope he gets out. Fans are as retarded if not more than fucking Management. Lets get injury prone Rafinha, fucking retarded Cancelo and another over rated 30 year old for a striker in his prime who guarantees 20+ goals a season.

I hope next year we have Zenga as coach with fucking Maccarone as our sole striker

I see the hate train is gaining popularity tonight.
Liked him or not, he does not deserve that amount of hate. He is a limited player that gave his all for the team whenever on the pitch.

Oh he missed chances? Boo hoo fucking hoo. That shit happens, pay some respect to Consigli instead of crywhining here and hating on a player that pulled this team on more than one occasion even with all his flaws and limitations.

It's not that he doesn't deliver in big games. He often does. But at the same time, it's only fair to point out that there were a number of huge matches that he absolutely disappeared. And the problem is that both in this match and against Milan, he had 5 sitters that should be very easy goals and he missed them.

He did score important goals and is a big part of why we had a chance. At the same time, when he doesn't offer anything outside of the scoring and missing sitters, it's only fair to critique him for it.

There is no other team in the world with fans who want to get rid of a striker in his prime that scored 100+ goals in the last five seasons. I really think that some people here are hoping that Icardi doesn't score so they can get mad at him.

Messi. Immobile. Salah. Lewandowski. Those are the only players with more league goals than him this season.

But there are people in Germany calling Lewandowski shit because he didn't score against Real ... So somewhere there is always bigger nonsense than on FIF. :eek:blivious:

I don't think it's that simple.

He's a great goal-scorer and has done a lot for this team, but the question is would we be better off with someone else, even if that player might not be as good? Obviously, we would need to add new pieces, including getting a new right winger.

Ibrahimovic is much more talented player than Milito and carrier Inter in 2008 before Milito joined. However, Inter was much better off with Milito in the team. Obviously, we added some new pieces but clearly the team wasn't working with Ibra for our goal (CL glory).

Barca also got rid of Ibra and brought in David Villa, who was nowhere near as good, but worked better in that team.

Icardi's worst game and in the most vital game.

At this point, I don't mind selling him, but I also don't mind keeping him. What I do mind is him (or her) demanding a new contract. Nope, not after this shit.

Don't count only goals. Immobile, Dzeko, Iguain, Mertens, all of them are much more involved in building of attacks than Icardi. He is pure finisher and the other time is invisible. The main problem is that our game is suited to him and focused on him. Inter is too dependent оf Icardi and when he fails to deliver the team suffer. And he fails pretty often.

After all is said and done, I am not against selling him and investing the money wisely. However I am against the huge outcry and hate against him without a pinch of gratitude to a player that after all deserves buckets of it for taking this club so far with his goals. He had one of his bad days at the worst time and that's it.

Give the armband to Skriniar. He's the one of two Inter players (next is Rafinha) to show genuine leadership. Icardi is the best no.9 in the world but he's too much of a primadonna to keep a level head and lead his team by example.

Strip the captain band off him at least. Captain has to be the first standing up when the team needs him the most. This pathetic loser did the opposite, throwing chance after chance in the most crucial moments. SIX sitters in two matches, cost 6 points directly at the final matches.

Not to mention he bitched for salary rise every fucking time he scored a couple of goals. That attitude is insulting the shadow of our legendary Capitano.

He just admitted he will discuss his future at the end of the season with the management.

The only reason David Villa worked for that team is because he was a school boy and didn't say shit when they played him on LW.

The fact that he waves his hands and gets angry so often doesnt help.

And? The point is that he did what the coach asked which brought success to the team. Therefore, he ended up winning the CL.

Without CL only way to keep Cancelo and Rafinha is selling him. I don’t mind actually, especially if we can make some business with Mourinho for Matrial - Perisic exchange (I read something yesterday in Croatian newspapers).
