Taremi was not the problem here. The four players behind him were atrocious (Hakan was fine)

Thuram wasn’t any better and Lautaro was arguably worse.

Frattesi has another game where he touches the ball like four times, losing possession in half of those, and people expect our strikers to be banging in the goals.

Taremi is an issue on his own. Your points are valid, but he's been average at best in almost every match he's featured. Effort is not missing, but his overall performance is lacking a bit or everything. Starting from positioning, decision making and of course finishing. He's almost always either slow or at the wrong place.

You can tell he's trying hard, but that's just not enough.

We cannot afford to lose ball possession that easy or having a player who's NOT doing what he's supposed to do, because 352 requires a strict responsibility in every department. Thuram can be frustrating at times, but he's still impactful and he can turn things around at any point, same goes for Lautaro. But with Taremi, you can always predict what he does.

There's still time for him to bounce back, but honestly I'm running out of patience with some of our players. We look like we have enough options in the bench, but sadly we look like a complete different team when Inzaghi is rotating. You can tell team is missing proper effort at some matches, but still, quality difference between our starters and bench players is nuclear.

I don’t disagree, but it’s the same situation almost every game he’s featured in. He’ll be surrounded by likes of Frattesi, Darmian, Asllani, Arnautovic, Augusto & co.

And in those games he rarely looks worse than Turam/Lautaro who are also being starved of service.

He may well be too old and too mediocre to play for us, but in these games he’s never the main culprit for me. I wouldn’t even put in him in the bottom five tonight. The midfield and wingbacks could barely make out of our own half.

Normally I would not blame him much, knowing what Inazghi demands from him, run his socks off to cover as much space as he can, hold up ball for counter. But this match he’s particularly not good at all, not in sync witht team, Leverkusen is actually good at isolating him and Thuram as well.

Unsurprisingly, he has not been able to cope with the pressure of playing on a big team. That's a thing with Iranian talents. They can excel at average clubs, as in the case of Taremi at Porto. However, once they get into big clubs, they usually don't survive. Other cases are Daei, Hashemian, and Karimi at Bayern. I have always thought that the main reason is that they make it late to Europe, spending their prime in the Arab leagues and making good money.

Despite that, I believe part of the reason he's not been productive is that he only got consistent playing time in the CL, where Simone mostly preferred defensive-minded gameplay. Therefore, we have not created many chances or scored a lot. I wish we could see him get more consistent playing time in Serie A, where we lean toward more offensive gameplay.

Officially one of the worst signings in our recent history. Release him this winter transfer window and move the fuck on

Perfect tee-up for the opener. Even Arnautovic couldn’t miss that.

It’s a shame he didn’t bury his chance he got from the Bisseck throughball in the 2nd half. He needs to start getting on the scoresheet more frequently.

Not that it matters, but it was from Lautaro.

Why? I loved his hustle today, also was involved in the second goal

Could have scored but decided to give Lautaro another try. Time for Inzaghi to tell everyone to stop doing that. It's fine to be friends in the locker room but not when we are facing a direct opponent like Atalanta.

He should have gone for the goal instead of passing to Frattesi.

So? The whole team is scoring for fun. It's a team sport and Inter is a scary team at the moment
Looks like you don’t remember what happened to us in the Champions League last year and that was one of the main reason why we acquired Taremi
