Some terrible decisions this summer, and next summer will be even more difficult:

Attack: We have two players in Correa and Lukaku who offer nothing. I don't see how we can sell Correa, and our management seem to have an obsession with making the Lukaku purchase work. He has been horrible or injured this season, and you still read about us wanted to redeem or loan him again on different terms - I don't know what they need to see to realize that this guy is done.

Then we have Dzeko who's getting older and may still want a big salary. I can't blame him as he's one of our best players. Lautaro is really the only one guaranteed to stay, unless we sell him at which point I'm not even sure what we'd do.

Missing out on Dybala was really bad. I think his salary at Roma is less than what Lukaku is earning and he would have given us something no other attacker can.

Midfield: Mkhitaryan is overplayed. He shouldn't be playing this many minutes, and ideally wouldn't even be here, but we can only sign old free agents it seems. Inzaghi has done a really bad job of managing Asllani. Instead of him him starts in at least some of our 'easier' home again, he has player Mkhitaryan as a starter in every game since the Sassuolo match.

Defence: I remember people being disappointed in being linked to Akanji near the end of the summer but I feel like we'll end up with someone of a lower quality either way. Dr Vrij needs to leave, and Skriniar will leave as well. D'Ambrosio isn't really a player to rely on, and at this point I'd trust Darmian more as a backup RCB.

I know we're in a bad financial state, but why aren't we trying to develop some younger players then. It's not as if players like Mkhitaryan will make us transfer money if we're looking to become a selling club. Play Asllani more and get Fabbian next season as part of the first team. Mkhitaryan is a good and intelligent player but it's not as if he's going to help us win the league or take us to the next level anyway - we're just prolonging the inevitable slide.

Moratti and Suning both failed to implant a wise and sustainable policy at the club and fuck themselves and the club over for this approach. I'm not just saying this after watching many players and coaches fail at the club. I was against getting or renewing them beforehand.

We lost a lot of money making unwise decisions and they weren't exactly hard to see. Sometimes shit happens, you can't make every decision right. But, many of them were avoidable and yet we went on and made the wrong decisions. We complain about lack of money when we throw lots of money away each year by our own hands.

The fans really deserve a better managed club. They were always there supporting the club watching shitshow every week.

In fairness, mhiki and acerbi have been fantastic. It's lukaku that has fucked us and the obvious mess that is skriniar contract. However, that looks to be more on Steven since he blocked the transfer.

That's a lot of guys who are in or are about to enter their prime. If we rounded it out with people (free agents or probably available at a cut price) like:

- Ndicka (23)
- Thuram (25)
- Soyuncu (26)
- Adama Traore (26)
- Ruben Loftus Cheek (27)

We could have something decent here. I'd really love to move away from 3-5-2, even if I enjoy watching a two-striker formation.

I'd also immediately fuck off Correa, Dumfries, Bellanova, De Vrij, and Lukaku.

It should be a busy summer. First we need to get rid of useless players asap and not wait until the end of the window. Next, no need for another loan of Lakaka and no to redeeming Bellanova. So, first sell Dumfries, Gosens and Correa. These 3 are just not performing well for us, so we don't need any of them. Next, bring in the Skriniar replacement and probably Smalling for free. Next up, sign Acerbi or renew De Vrij. I am not a fan of De Vrij, but you need to know this is what Inter will probably wanna do, so my guess is it will be either Acerbi or De Vrij. Then time to get some wing players instead of Gosens and Dumfries, while already having Dimarco and Darmian. And these new players should be bought with the intention to be starters. Dimarco has been great this year, but having a real competition for that spot will only help him. In the middle there's not much you can do, as only Gags is leaving and I hope Fabbian gets a chance to be in that spot. For the attack renew Dzeko and bring in 2 players. One tall guy and one similar to Lautaro. I know some people think that Skriniar leaving will make us worse, but with some smart moves i don't see it... And this offseason we will need a Marotta mastercalss, its time.
On the end we will probably need:
1 GK (backup)
2 CB (both starters)
2 WB (1 starter)
1 MID (bench)
2 ATT (1 starter)

I think Soyuncu is set to join Atletico in the summer. Ndicka can only play as lcb so it wouldn't really solve any of our defensive problems. He's too good to be merely a Bastoni backup.

But instead they're panicking, offering a contract to a player they didn't want to keep (De Vrij) just to make up the numbers. Imo the entire management needs to go. They're too shortsighted to operate in this situation.

Exactly. Switching to 4 man defence is actually pretty expensive operation. Expensive and Zhangs don't go along.

Darmian can certainly play as a rb. Dimarco would be a defensive liability in lb but he already is one as a lwb. Besides there's also Gosens who can play as lb. Also it's a lot easier and cheaper to find fullbacks.

And we don't have to move to a system with wingers, even though there are some good maket opportunities. We could also switch to diamond which would require much less.

Sticking with the back 3 will also be expensive. We need a fast ball playing rcb to replace Skriniar, a starting rwb if Dumfries is sold and at least a starting forward. And that's if we don't have another big sale. No matter how we play next season it will be costly. There are big gaps in the squad.
