I really don't understand that obsession with Kessie?! As per rumors Barca will ask for 25 mln and with his fat 5 mln net salary, this is just not worth it. I prefer to go after Frattesi, who will cost 30-35mln, with half salary, plus he is younger and with higher ceiling.
You really trust GDS reports so much? If anything, the journalist would be pranked by Zhang Suning before their reports come true.

But is our amortization cost as high as it was in 2020-21? Don't think it's close enough.

Our revenues are significantly higher, CL run or not. The "extra" CL money is significant this year, but that's only because we anticipated failure (group exit) because that's what we had when we spent a shitload of money and we don't do that anymore.

Our salary budget is ~30% lower than 2021.

This is the last year we're carrying "handshakes". Sanchez being the last one and we're taking the 100% of the hit now.

Our sponsorship is shaky, but it should get better after the deep CL run, potential final appearance.
We're still getting the Coppa final money this year, and probably the winning coupon as well.

Our major issue is that we're still wasting money and we don't see the relative sporting return (Correa, Dzeko, Lukaku, De Vrij, Handanovic, Brozovic and Gosens this year).

Future isn't great, but it's not as grim as some make it out to be. It's all down to not mismanaging our assets and not committing to any bad deals (ie Correa or getting Lukaku back after next season). If we somehow end up with a new ownership, all the better!

@pier shed your lights, hopefully tomorrow after you recover from the celebrations of our advancement to the final :)
The wage budget is still the main problem, we spend too much for a Serie A team. Think logically, if we get to the top 4, the cup final and the knockout stages of CL in previous years, we consistently have minus 60 million, so there was a salary cut last year of about +-10%, so maybe today if we achieved these standard goals we would have minus 45-50, each stage of the Champions League gives an additional 10, so at the moment we have minus +-20. The money for the additional match tickets we can safely write off to our contract with the main sponsor, who does not pay us money.

Oh sure, I'm not arguing these numbers.

In fact, I know for a fact that the target was for 60m and you're right to expand that to 80m as that's the sponsorship money we never received.

I trust that the figure has dropped to ~35m now, which is possibly cured by a big sponsorship deal we may sign - to eliminate the need for a big sale - and I'm not even sure if we can simply just not write off the Digital Bits sponsorship yet and just report them as accruals, but I'm not sure on the accounting practice here.
Accounting wise, we should report digital bits as an accrual, and at some point its a deliquent payment - as we've seen on our sponsorship books in recent years, we've had (I cant remember exact figure) but like 60-100mil in deliquent payment, which is one of the reasons why we had those massive losses in recent years.

I dont know at what point digital bits would be considered deliquent, it should be by now to be honest as its clear the money isnt coming to us

So that was the reason we kept the name on our shirts despite not getting any money from them? So we can keep that sponsorship money as something which is still "coming" at some point in the future? Then when it's certain we won't ever see the money, we just write it down in some year.

Off-topic: That's some insane fuckup in management level to NOT get sponsorship money in a season like this. Specially as they couldn't recover from the position and get a new sponsor for semis and final (I don't expect to see a sponsor in our final shirts).

I think practically it gives us a basis to sue for more long term as well. Like if we took the name off after 6 months we would be owed potentially 6 months of money, whereas this way they owe us for longer

Plus we probably didn't want the cost of reprinting all the shirts too

RE your comment on sponsor money, it'll be interesting to see if Suning can pay out their bonuses - they've given us some decent bonuses (at least historically, dont know if the contracts have expired now) for progress in the CL, for example.

Its worth getting a sponsor just for the final, like, surely someone will pay 3-5mil to have their logo in the CL final watched by hundreds of millions across the globe.. that being said I do quite like the jersey without a sponsor logo and it could become kinda iconic in some ways

I would say 10m could be worth having the logo there. But it would have to happen fast as all the promo material is getting done already I assume.

I don't think Suning is gonna pay us anything anymore.

We will sell again core members of the team. Lautaro, Barella and Bastoni. Beppe and Ausilio will need to do their miracle work to fill the gaps as best they can.

We will get a new sponsor, yet with the dismantled team why would we get anything decent?

Seriously tipping we wont be finishing top 4 next year, and the quicker this club can be sold with new stadium it wont get better.

From Gazzetta:

Meanwhile, the value of Inter owners Suning’s sponsorship of the team’s training centre and training kit has also dropped off.

From its highest point of €16.5 million plus add-ons, the value of that agreement then dropped to a fixed amount of €16 million with no add-ons in the 2019-20 season, and then by €5.4 million during the 2020-21 season and a further €4.5 million for the 2021-22 campaign.

They have been replaced by LeoVegas this season.

Inter Milan Want Scalvini & Frattesi To Add Even More Italian Presence

According to the Corriere, the Nerazzurri would like to keep this theme going even more in the summer.

Inter are reportedly prepared to target two young Italian stars.

One is breakout Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini. The 19-year-old would be the Nerazzurri’s ideal target to replace Milan Skriniar

Meanwhile, midfielder Davide Frattesi certainly made an impression with his performance and goal against Inter at the San Siro last weekened.

Accordingly, the Nerazzurri have marked the 23-year-old as one of their top midfield targets this summer.

Neither Scalvini not Frattesi would come cheap. However, Inter are ready to try and find a way to sign the duo.
I approve.

fun fact: we are the only team in serie a that has Nike.

Probably because they don’t pay.

I mean we should go with puma as well if they pay that much more.
