We are pathetic with these 34 mln spent. I read at the beginning of mercato that Milan will have 50mln budget, and then they sold Tonali for 60-70 (total of 110+120mln). So finally they invested in the squad same amount as it was planned.
We had 0 budget, sold players for like 80-100mln (if we count Pinamonti's money as well), and at the end we spent 34mln.

Tape this to the wall and to everyone's forehead.

It is disgusting. It is pathetic.

Also think of the idiocy of this club if they really decided to go all in on samardzic and now that the deal fell through, funds are being made available for a FW or a CB. Does that make any sense?

'Now with lukaku off the table, funds are being readied for balogun'.
'Onana sale unlocks inter mercato'.
'They were going to offer $30m for Scamacca so they can use that for balogun or orban instead'.
'Champions league revenue takes pressure off finances so we can finally spend a little'.

All lies. Fool me once, shame on me, you. Fool me can't get fooled again!

I do wonder if we now go for one more bigish signing (+/-30m).....
We obviously planned to do so with lukaku and also balogun now that the serbian kid aint coming i wonder if we gonna try one last push for either pavard or Balogun

Oh my beautiful, kind hearted, gentle soul. Noone is coming. They won't spend the money. And if they were prioritizing funds for samardzic instead of getting a starting FW or pavard - they should all be lined up and fired. That literally makes no sense.

Well, basically we were missing the whole team. So the management was seeking for market opportunity here and there and choose the cheapest option.

To be precise, a striker, a wingback or a side CB are still lacking. If we invest on one, we don't have much left and span that position's minutes on stretch. One position stronger = one weaker.

The worst thing is that next season gonna be the same shit. Because our recent newcomers are too old (Cuadrado, Sommer, Arnautovic, Acerbi). Them plus the other three (including Mikhy). We never could afford six-seven high quality long-term players and always in survive mode with gap-fillers.

i agree but that is also why the samardzic deal and the argument that funds from his failed transfer can now be used at FW and CB dont make any sense. MF wasn't an area of need for us so to devote resources there if we dont even have any for other positions is stupid by ownership.

And this is compounding degrading effect of running the club into the ground the way suning is. Next year we will go into the transfer window needing to replace Darmian, Acerbi, Cuadrado and possibly Sommer. And next window we may not have a deep CL run in the bank or a pure plusvalenza sale like Onana. This should have been a window where we spent $100m easy. Could have been across 3 or 4 players. We still havent recovered from NOT SPENDING after selling lukaku and hakimi after the scudetto.

But the narrative will be that he specifically asked for Sommer, Arnautovic and Cuadrado and whatever other 33+ year old we'll end up signing
But everyone knows he would have liked Lukaku first and then Morata.

I don't think the narrative will hold.

Nobody in his right mind believes that narrative. Not a single Inter fan.

I don't really agree with this part. We've already shown that we're willing to make poor financial decisions when it comes to Lukaku by spending 20mil or whatever it was for a one season rental when we could have owned Dybala for less. Buying Lukaku probably would have meant no Samardzic and no Arna which is 25mil or whatever right there. It might have also meant selling someone else to help fund the move. But if there's one thing I don't doubt it's the current management's desire to have Lukaku in the squad.
It was Zhang who wanted Lukaku alongside Inzaghi, it was also Zhang who apparently forced the loan idea through.

Neither of this ever smelled of Marotta, I doubt he even liked getting him for Conte, as he is just not a typical Marotta trade.

All the financial issues are a combination of past poor management stretching all the way back to Moratti and all the way through till current owners, that had their share of now some really poor and odd if not desperate decision making.

When transfer window start i was thinking maybe after sell Onana we will reduce age of our squad.

But so far we already buy three grandpa and zero wonderkid. Maybe Inter allergic to U-21 players.

Wonder kids are expensive as everyone freaking wants them.

It’s not like the old days where you could pick them out without them being noticed by a richer or bigger club. With the technology of our time it just doesn’t happen very often. When these are overlooked it’s typically with some good reason like problematic personality, mental issues, injury records etc.

It’s become very difficult for clubs like Inter to pick out players like that, without having City or another rich club snatching them right under your nose.

Already waiting for the winter mercato to fix our teams problem areas, hopefully we can muster up enough wins to keep us in scudetto race until then

We don’t even know who the owner is next summer. It can still be Zhang, it can be Oaktree or some other person. We really do not know those we also can’t really say how situation is next summer. Everything is quite uncertain currently

whoever the owner is, the problems will be the same... We will need a new attacker, get rid of Correa, get 1 or 2 defenders, a midfielder, a goalkeeper and get rid of all the useless shit we've got... They pretty much didn't do shit this year.... Thats why when theres hopefully a new owner, they clean house and get a new team that doesn't have to spend 3 months to select a defender.. Actually, more than half a year, cause Skriniar was gonne in January. Fucking pathetic. Can't wait to get rid of all these snails.

If Inter get in Pavard & Sanchez (free) as their final 2 buys and get rid of the useless Correa, I'll be satisfied with the mercato. Maybe also Pereyra (free) for the ever injured Sensi. Yes, we still would have failed in getting our main Centre Forward, but we can focus on that & Acerbi replacement next year. Rest of the squad looks strong, specially the wingbacks & midfield.

Sommer (Audero, Di Gennaro)
Dumfries (Cuadrado) - Pavard (Darmian) - Acerbi (de Vrij) - Bastoni (Bisseck) - Dimarco (Augusto)
Barella (Frattesi) - Calhanoglu (Asllani) - Mkhitaryan (Sensi/Pereyra)
Arnautovic (Thuram) - Martinez (Sanchez)

But if we end up with Correa and/or a third rate replacement for Skriniar (eg Toloi), then this window has been poor.
