Al Nassr getting Bento for 18m while we pay 15m for some fucking GK from Genoa. Also add to it a very fucking underwhelming players incoming so fucking frustrating.

Have you seen bento play? Like I watch South American footy and have never seen him play or heard of him till he was linked to us

if people only watched Inter-Genoa last season, that meanst they've seen Martinez play 2 times more than Bento.... Lets not act like anyone here knew who fucking Bento was... and they still don't know anything about him.

I know Josep Martinez looks like he dives in slow motion and we thought bento was expensive at 25m. All of our so far acquisitions REEK of fucking banter era deals. Get Gargano because we do not have 5m to get something better, plus use the 5m into another fucking bang average idiot like schelotto

I just like how he's going there for less than what we reportedly offered, and had rejected.

So we aren't missing Bento due to the cost, but only because we, Inzaghi to be specific, rate Josep Martinez higher. Let's wait and see. Which one ends up better will show we are retarded or not.

Based on highlights only, Martinez reflexes indeed look like in slow motion comparing to Bento  But that's the only aspect being revealed. Maybe he has better footwork, better aerial control (?!?) dunno, just check again in a year.

Realistically no one here will have done enough scouting on Bento to know for sure if he would have been the right choice for inter. I would argue Martinez is probably more “ready” with two seasons as starter in serie a and b (both higher level than Brazilian championship) and played a fair amount in Spain prior to joining RB Leipzig right before Covid and not seeing the pitch again for 2 years. Inzaghi is getting his guy so we should at least give him a chance to play before writing him off because he isn’t as hyped.

He & the management wanted thuram. Thuram got injured, Correa was the backup plan. A very bad one but lets not make it out like Correa was the first choice.

I've thought about this a few times, even written about it before...how history could've been different, at least in that '21-'22 season, if Thuram doesn't get hurt playing for Gladbach (in a game they got blown out in against Leverkusen) in the last game before the transfer deadline. Everything indicated that move was set to happen, and while his record that season wasn't great (3 goals in 21 games), obviously that was post-injury, an injury that doesn't happen if he transfers here before then or is held out on account of the impending transfer.

And it has knock-on effects. Probably handle Dzeko business differently, probably never bother going back for Lukaku on loan last season, as good as Thuram was in 2023-'24 he would've been in Inzaghi's system for a third season by then instead of one year so that would've likely meant better performance...fuck I hate thinking about this so I'm gonna stop.

Reportedly we offered 15m. And surely not 6m salary.
So they wanted 20 million and we offered 15 million? Either way, it's fuckin ridiculous.

Of course, the excessive salary is because he's going to waste his years in a footballing backwater, so I'd disregard.

I expect Martinez is better doing BBQ than Bento.

Inter stands to gain roughly 2.5m from Vayiannidis' potential transfer to Botafogo from Panathinaikos. Deal is said to be at 6.5m and Inter has a % of the future sale.

Not sure how advanced the transfer is, but it's quite possible.
