After the Napoli medical exam undergone by Davide Santon at Villa Stuart turned up several small health issues, the defender is undergoing further examination before his transfer is completed. Given that the deal is a straight sale, De Laurentiis wants clarity on the issues before coming to a final agreement. I'm sort of skim-reading the rumour threads. It seems the only one worth a grain of salt is the Candreva rumour.

Nothing is close. Pretty clear from the club that Gabriel Jesus is a target, but it's not something likely to happen. Candreva is a guy Mancini wants but the club is not likely to meet Lotito's valuation (reportedly 25m) so that is not close to happening given that Lazio is in no rush to come down and it seems not everyone at the club wants Candreva, Ausilio said they aren't even in for him which could be a way of saying at that price is not gonna happen.

Departures are more likely right now as they need to balance the books, Juan has gone to Roma, Santon has had two moves away broke down at the final minute, some youngsters have gone on loan, Dodo might go to Sampdoria and others will likely be on the move.

Right now nothing is imminent or DONE!

I think Inter are playing the "Perisic game" with Candreva. Which is silly because it didn't work last time either, in the end Inter paid the full amount to Wolfsburg. Maybe this is because we want to sell first, or maybe we are hoping for a 1-2m discount. But if we are going to end up buying him, getting the player in for the pre-season may be worth paying that 1m extra...

I think we are waiting for outgoing sales before we bring someone in. Sale of Santon would probably unlock our market and we could probably bring one player in the range up to 20 mil. Since we have to cover our incoming transfer with outgoing ones management probably doesn't want to spend money before they are sure they can cover it so we wouldn't have the same situation like last year when we were forced to sell Kova to balance the books. I don't think that management would sell Kova last year if they didn't spend money in advance and didn't have offers for any other players. This year we are counting on sales of Broz or Murillo, say we spend that money in advance and then no one sends an offer for them but someone makes one for Icardi and then we would have to sell him. Management probably wants to avoid situations like that.

Not really, this time we just dont want to pay that much. With Perisic we were hoping for an Inter formula (loan with obligation/right to buy).

Can't we just circumvate the FFP with some loan+obligation to buy Ausilio-style transfers (or were they Branca-style) ? Loan first, pay later. In 2017 it's a different story for us since we have money from our owners.
