Yes, its extremely unlikely. But its not impossible. Lazio are cash whores. Also, when Man Utd were after SMS, there were rumours that Inzaghi wanted Gagliardini as the replacement. If that rumours had any truth in it, a deal could be done even on the final day by throwing the Icardi cash + Gags at Lazio.

But if Icardi doesn't leave, then I don't see how Inter could get SMS.

Unless SMS somehow manages to happen due to Icardi being sold, I see any midfield purchases a long shot. But lets hope.

I think Sensi, Brozo, Barella, Gaglia and Vecino are enough to hopefully hold our own against most teams, but with one injury to those first three names.... yikes.

I'd take Baselli in a heart beat, but don't think he's much of an upgrade over Barella or Sensi. SMS or nothing.

Our midfield definitely could use a pick up or two, but overall we're pretty solid. I'm afraid that with Icardi not leaving we have our hands tied from getting any names that will actually make a difference, especially against teams like Barcelona and Dortmund (who had a pretty killer mercato)

I still feel like this has been a pretty excellent window. Obviously the Icardi/nainggolan/perisic situation is far from ideal, but it's kind of unfair to pin the lack of sales of those guys on the dudes running the window (my point being that the development of the situation has little to do with the mercato team). Considering the hand they were dealt they've done pretty well, I'm hype for most of the new pick ups we've got, and while I'm sad at some of the youth we dumped (karamoh, puscas, Pina, vanheudsen) we mostly got buy backs/future sale clauses on the players that matter.

Still, an extra midfielder would really be a cherry on top... SMS dreams

2003/2004 IIRC our full back was Francesco Coco, Jeremy Brechet, Javier Zanetti, Thomas Helveg, Giovane Pasquale.
