For one, Dzeko is a proven player who has won multiple league titles, as a key player.

Two, he would be happy with a rotational role.

Three, he works for Conte's system. He is a good finisher, can hold up the ball, can bring others in to play, is practically a complete striker. He can also partner any of our 3 strikers.

Four, he would be free.

He is declining, but his game isn't dependent on speed or attributes that decline drastically.

7 years too late for all that. I love Džeko, but it's time to find some other players.

And especially not from Roma except if it's Pellegrini.

It's quite simple and doable:
Get rid of: Kolarov(0m), Young (0m), dambrosio (0m), Gravillon when lorient exercise their option(6m), gags(7m), vecino (loan out with option) coz nobody will pay a straight fee for him given his injury marred season, Vidal(0m), joao Mario(8m), naingollan(0m), Pinamonti(loan out), Dimarco(7m) Hellas exercise option.
Net balance from outgoing transfers= 28m

Incoming targets: Rcb, lcb, cm, lwb and backup Cf.
Rcb: Aissa mandi=free transfer
lcb: Romain saiss=free transfer
LCM: Gini wijnaldum= free transfer
lwb: The 28m net balance above is enough to get either of Raphael Guerrero, kostic, Philip max and Alex telles. And these are adequate standard options for the lwb role.
Backup Cf: Moussa marega

As seen above,All these can be done without the need to sell any of our big players. We will still be able to meet our transfer targets with a very little cost. So tell me how is this hard?

Unfortunately, you can't just tell players to fuck off. Nainggolan and Vidal combined make close to 15M€ in wages on a net basis (I think). They're not going to leave that money on the table. Along similar lines, no one is paying 8M€ for Joao Mario when his contract is set to expire next summer. Nor is he going to accept a reduced salary. So that already blows 25M€ out of your faux budget.

That's not even regarding the accounting (or FFP) component of this. Joao Mario and Nainggolan are both unamortized players. This means selling them (or letting them leave for free) creates an accounting loss that impacts our ability to spend money on transfers. Players like Lazaro, Dalbert, and Pinamonti who have inflated books values also hurt us here.

It's not about telling players just to fuck off and I know it's not easy to get rid of players but you know well that no matter hard it is, naingollan is definitely not going to be here next season, I don't know how but the easiest way us to get rid of him is to loan him out or terminate his contract. This is why I put zero transfer cost for him in order to block any objections, If I had written a certain fee for him, you might as well criticise that. As for joao Mario, the competition for him is strong (sevilla, sporting e.T.C) and some previous report have shown that sporting are willing to bid 7m for him, we just wanted more coz we are trying to take advantage of the competition on him, Which is why the deal is taking long. Vidal on the other hand has only 1 year left on his contract and Marseille are serious about him, so it's not a big deal to get rid of him. Even if we are unable to get rid of him, keeping him won't affect my analysis since he won't add penny. I just wanted to stress how we will generate the funds necessary to finance our targets and Vidal does not contribute to that.

Some reports from today:
Radu for Silvestri swap
Sanchez and Vidal too expensive to stay. Alexis to go.
Padelli wont get a renewal.
Pinamonti, Young and Kolarov will leave.
Rano might renew.
Conte will want a left WB.
Inter will consider selling Brozovic.

I think there is no surprise. Id hate to lose Sanchez, but if we can get another solid 3rd striker i'll be fine. And get that 4th striker as well. We can see how Lukaku is burned out.

:awyeah:
Alexis will go but Vidal will stay. Looks fair to me.

It says theres teams that are interested in sanchez, while vidal not so much. It wouldnt surprise me if they swap dzeko for sanchez this time around.

Not sure we could find a solid Sanchez replacement at a much lower cost. I would gladly take Depay but he would probably also be expensive. I don't see another quality secondary striker who's on the market and available at a low cost.

As for Brozovic, they're probably waiting to see if there are any good offers about him after the Euro and then they will decide what to do with him.

i am pretty sure Ilicic will be available for under 5M. People are mentioning Muriel and Zapata. There is no way Inter is spending 20M+ on a 3rd or 4th striker.

Sanchez isn't going anywhere. That's just pure speculation, there's no credible options for him. He's at massive wages for the next two years still, hasn't been playing as a starter for several years. Only top club can pay his wages and no top club will want to take him. We need to remember it's still COVID times, clubs simply do not have money.

Joao Mario is also someone we can't expect to fetch too much money to us. One year left of the contract, interest comes from clubs behind top-level clubs. The difference between ability to pay between top level clubs and clubs behind them is huge. Sporting makes it to CL but they are still portuguese club. Hampered with COVID and thus no money from matches. It's honestly a jackpot for us if we can get even 5m€ for Joao Mario.

Ilicic will never fit to Conte's football. Way too lazy. He's already in disagreement with Gasperini. Giroud or Dzeko are much more likely, of course given they will lower their salaries (Dzeko takes golden handshake from Roma).

I can't imagine losing Alexis with no proper replacement. We will miss his dynamism and creativity. Dzeko is good player, but he won't help us to break opponent's defence as good as Alexis. My only idea is to replace Alexis with Papu Gomez, they have similar abilities and Papu would earn much less than Alexis. And maybe there would be a chance to send Joao Mario to Sevilla in a swap deal.

This losing Sanchez thing is just one reporter making up stuff, or making speculations. There is no single credible destination for him, really doubt he wants to downgrade his club.

Having read that Conte wants 3 signings + a keeper, who do people want to see? IMO:

-Kostic
-De Paul
-Giroud

I have no idea about a keeper, I just know that Cragno, Musso, Silvestri, etc., don’t excite me at all.

Rather have Iličić than any other 30+ attacking player out there.

For me it would be:

- Kostic
- Wijnaldum or Nandez (if Cagliari get relegated)
- Giroud (only on 1+1 contract)

I would be willing to wait for the keeper for one more season. Apart from Donnarumma, who has insane demands, i am not convinced by any of the other GKs we have been linked with. There are much greater needs in the squad. We can survive with Handa for one more season.

If Brozović is sold for decent money, Dani Ceballos could be purchased for around 25mil. That's a good enough price, he is still owned by Real and playing for Serie A champions >>> Arsenal.

Arsenal fans hate cabellos now. Says he brings next to nothing in midfield. One of my good mates supports arsenal, likes arteta but hates ceballos. That's a no from me. Maybe if he is on loan for depth and to see what he can do

United fans hated Lukaku, Sanchez and Darmian. I know he can ball, we have Barella, Sensi and Eriksen, so he doesn't have to do anything but do a Brozo and connect the team.

I'm not saying he's better than Brozo or a world class player, but sooner or later we'll have to revamp the team

Fair point. To be honest I've never really watched him but they loved him last season.
