Lingard. I'm pretty sure that Marotta and co will go after him.
This is Seria A
Everyone over 30 and finished is on Inter's list. Don't be surprised when Asllani is benched for the second season in a row for Matič.

Brillant! Allows the player's agents the opportunity to explore other avenues that potentially are more profitable. Distractions? Stevie only has so much play money with so many holes to fill, while at the same time signaling to other clubs that they can lowball offers to players Inter's willing to part with.

Zaha gives this team so much of what we are lacking. Speed and dribbling. I'd take him no bother. Our only problem is where he could play in our 3-5-2

Gazzetta reports that to avoid any distractions, all the renewal talks are postponed to the end of the season.

:awyeah:

Zhang is pulling el classico.

We want Gagliardini to focus 100% on his football, not be distracted with contract negotiations.
I am optimistic we will retain him at the end of the season.

Now is the perfect moment to ditch 3-5-2 with all of Moura, Zaha and Di Maria being free agents.

People want to change coach and that's definitely an argument to make, but there can be no manager talk as long as there's no strategy here and no indication of owners changing the narrative.

Yeah, I'm fuming and calling for people's heads left and right, but there will be no change until Suning do one.

I don't know he been pretty bad. Some of the rumors of coaches don't make sense. It's Motta or who ever the U20 coach is until the season is over.

This summer will be the death knell. This squad is in desperate need of a major injection of new talent, but we have no money to do so. We're going to keep signing declining Bosman players. Suning is demanding 60M of transfer profits, but we have no one to sell other than our jewels. The quality of the squad will erode further. Qualifying for the UCL will become even more challenging.

The best sporting director in the world couldn't succeed in these conditions. Marotta's ultra conservative foxtrot helped us outrun the speeding train for one season - maybe two. But the gig is up.

It goes back to what i have been arguing for a long time. With the way Suning are running the club post 2021 we needed to change the project. We needed to prioritize adding value to the squad by signing promising youngsters with resale value and have a coach willing to give them playing time and develop them. We also needed to start contract negotiations early to either keep them long them or sell them while they can still bring substantial offers. What have we done? 0/3. Our management mostly signs experienced and Serie A proven players (because "We WaNt To WiN), our coach is allergic to playing youngsters and our ownership postpones contract negotiations for the last possible moment. When the time comes next summer for one of Bastoni, Barella and Lautaro to get sold no one should wonder how we came to this. It will be the fault of all 3 sides. Suning-Marotta/Ausilio-Inzaghi combination only leads to a new banter era.

Yeah good posts, the last two.

This all comes down to the ownership (I'm a broken record, I know). If they don't understand we can't keep going with this core trying to win. It's not gonna work when we need to downsize at the same time.

Management and coach talk is secondary to what is our owners' plan. Management does the owner's bidding, trying to scramble in a tough circumstances. They are not faultless, of course not, but the target is very hard to achieve and any mistake is expensive. Then coach is even more difficult position. Shit just rolls downhill, that's just how it is. Inzaghi clearly is not up to this task, the issue is we don't know if there is anyone who can really do any better (leading the current project). New kind of project with our core reduced and replaced with younger players would be a different story.

Daniele Mari makes the great point that all the contracts of our ‘less able’ players are up in the summer.

What an absolutely perfect time to freshen up the squad. We don’t need world beaters, just people below the age of 35 who can play football and maybe beat their man. We’re not winning shit anyway, just take a chance on a few unknowns.

Edit to say that I don't class Acerbi and Dzeko as 'less able', they've been very good for us, but they're also on the wrong side of 30 and on decent wages.

It's the right time to clean up the squad and switch to the back 4. But you know it's too much to ask from those who run this club.

Acerbi is useful as long as Inzaghi is at Inter. If we switch to a back 4 then Acerbi needs to go. Lotito let Acerbi join Inter on a free loan because he was useless to Sarri. He is a liability in a back 4.
