Gagliardini doesn't have a contract for next season.

Correa might be tougher cookie to crack but it's doable for sure. We just need to be determined.

In general, based on all the comments, we gonna have Calhanoglu and Bastoni extended. Probably after the season is finished. Key pieces.

Then it will get interesting how the summer will unfold. I assume we DO NOT have to sell anyone in June to polish the books because of our amazing CL run. So Inzaghi basically avoided selling anyone in this season (2022 July - 2023 June) with the CL profits. But 2023 July is right around the corner, that's a new season and new fiscal requirements by the ownership. That's where it gets interesting.

Well, they could still offer Gags an extension

i really hope that inter did not sell onana next season for less than 100M. he is very critical on how we approach the defensive play as he always provide outlet for defenders. we will struggle to replace him.
I really don't want to sell him. With all this UCL prize money hopefully we can avoid doing anything stupid. It would be nice to ADD to the squad, rather than pulling it apart, for the first summer in four years.

I don't think that's a correct analysis. Us making 100m from CL this season allows us not to sell during THIS (fiscal year), meaning what's left of it, that is, June. We need to remember we wanted to make a lot of plusvalenza last summer (and made some with young players), but it was postponed to after the season time, ie. June. But now with CL money, we don't have to make that plusvalenza with player sales.

Next season is a new animal, it starts in July. And I would say the assumption is we are at CL so that 40-50m guaranteed money is "budgeted" already, in a sense. I think we might need to sell to make plusvalenza next season. Which means between the timeframe of 2023 July and 2024 June.

We could, I guess find proper corporate deals to fill the gaps?

Amortization costs will drop next season unless we somehow get mesmerized by Lukaku and Chelsea and give them 70m on top of having to fill up the rest of the roster.

Only issue is Correa and to be frank, Gosens is quite expensive on the ledger given that he's not a starter.

I'm terrified we're going to spend 60M+ on Lukaku and further destroy our finances. We have all the leverage in the world. Marotta needs to earn his keep.

Don't be crazy guys. We ain't gonna buy Lukaku.

Correa is an issue in our books for sure. Gosens is not much better in the books but on the pitch he's 10x more useful. So he's not deadwood.

With Correa, we simply need to eat that shit as they say. We loan him out as long as his contract runs out unless he manages to pull one mega season and then they buy him for cheap with the option. Gosens is leaving only if he wants to, I think we're happy enough with him and I doubt we are gonna push him out. Since I doubt any great offers will arrive.

Why would Correa agree to leave? He's not going anywhere.

He's going when we tell him he doesn't get to play anymore.

The coach plays a huge role in this aspect. You can have almost anyone against you as long as the coach supports you, it won't matter. I thought Limone's words regarding Correa (despite him playing like garbage entire time) were just to show him support during his difficult times, but honestly it's more than that. He seems to have faith in Correa despite everything, and it's gonna be very difficult to get rid of him.

I was hoping Correa would improve this season, but I don't think there is any hope for his future here. It's not just that he doesn't score, but he doesn't really offer anything. He's not a hard worker and has no confidence. Since the international break, he has started 8 out of 10 Serie A matches, and I barely remember him taking a shot on goal in any of them.

The clubs going to have to force Correa out because Inzaghi would never. He doesn’t strike me as the ruthless type.

We really need to lay the foundation of having better depth this summer. In 2 seasons from now the Champions League will reformat, meaning we will be playing twice a week more often than not. We need to start strengthening the squad now or else we won't be ready for a congested schedule.

It doesn't help that our youth academy can't even produce good substitutes.

I'm still hoping they won't do that.
