We have dead wood in Maicon, Jonathan, Stankovic... what's gonna happen to them? There are lot of players that we don't need and we can't get reed of them. Hmm.. someone explain? :trolldad:

Maicon may be too expensive for us to keep, but he certainly ain't "deadwood". Still is the best RB option in our squad, and if can cannot get a decent offer, I hope we can afford to keep him. Pereira on the left, Maicon on a right = could be magic.

Handanović(28)

Zanetti(irrelevant since he is the highlander) Silvestre(28) Ranocchia(24) Pereira (27)

Gargano(28)

Paulinho(24) Guarin26)

Cassano(30) Sneijder(28)

Milito(33)

While I honestly don't believe in the whole youth project even with Strama and don't think he is going to actually promote many of those guys into regular players, this above doesn't look bad at all. Defense is obviously a weak part of the team(central defenders to be more exact). Milito is also not getting any younger so we'll probably be looking for his replacement in two years.

Crazy idea....Balotelli to replace him and a quality CB. With Coutinho, Obi, hopefully Longo and Mbaye it could be a scudetto contender for 4,5 seasons.

As I said, looks like there is not much of a youth revolution, but at least we have a decent team for a while.

Well done.

Although I'm not very comfortable with the central midfield area we have lot of options there and hopefully some will work out. And I'm positive something out of the 4 central defenders will work out.

The youth project is there , you just have to know where to look. There are many different youth projects and ours is one intended to build up a new winning group of players while remaining competitive.

After this mercato we have actually a perfect mix :

Over 30 -> Castellazi , Samuel , Zanetti , Chivu , Cambiasso , Stankovic , Milito , Palacio , Cassano (Players who have won with this team or not , who can handle pressure and have the right experience to lead the younger and help the team in decisive moments of the season)

23-29 -> Handanovic, Ranochia , Silvestre , Nagatomo , Jonathan , Guarin , Gargano , Perreira , Mariga (?) , Alvarez (Players who have won shit but have the quality , passion , motivation and strength to make a name of themselves in the big football and most importantly are EAGER to win)

Under 23 -> Belec , Juan , Mbaye , Obi , Duncan , Bessa , Coutinho , Longo , Livaja (Players who all have a huge potential and are currently in perfect position. No one is a starter so nothing is really expected from them but in the same time they will have a good bunch of matches thanks to EL and rotation policies in order to grow and express themselves. )

PS. On of the exceptions of this list is Cou who although is in group 3 should be considered a group 2 players thanks to the enormous potential (and as a conseguence more responsabilities)

With all the pessimism regarding this transfer market I would say we it has been a huge success.

If I were to assume that Maicon/JC are to be sold in the coming week then we would have:

Net spend this transfer window ~ 10m
Net drop in player wage cost ~ 35m

That and we have a far more competitive squad than last year.

By all accounts a great transfer window.

I don't see why we keep bringing up wages or how our management uses this an excuse. We are still failing in wages department. We gave Pereira,Handa,Silvestre, Gargano and Guarin 2 million euro contracts that was more than double what they made in their previous clubs. Why? Did they play in a better club we needed to convince them to come here for?

Cassano is 30 and has a heart problem and we giving him 3 million euro + bonuses? So more than double what Palacio is making? Well at least we didn't double his wages.

We might have lowered Chivu pay but he is making more than all the other starters in defense for being 4th choice. Not to mention the most useless player we have Stank is still here and is making 3.5 million euro.

Everytime we are linked to a player everyone here has a fing math/algebra equation on how it's going to effect the club but then we double every single players wages who come here and then pay a guy 3 million euro a season+ bonuses. I know everyone here gets giddy when we get a new argie or Italian on the team but doesn't this go against us trying to save money in the wage department?

Well when we are used to giving 3.5 and 4.5m to players we signs, then we are really showing we are handling wages far better. A 35m drop is huge, and once Stankovic and Cuchu leave it will drop even further. Our wages are lower than Juve and we spent nothing compared to their spending.

Also, you can't look at it as doubling a player's wages. If Pereira were to go to the EPL he would get at least 3m. Our salaries shouldn't be compared to what a player used to get, but what a player could get if he went to another team. We haven't been overpaying in wages.

You think if a team would sign Cavani he would accept 2.2m??? He will demand much more than that and if one club won't pay then another will. Your complaints about wages make no sense.

Speaking to Inter Channel, Stramaccioni then speaks of transfers and keeps us above all to say a "big thank you to Marco Branca and Piero Ausilio. Technical director(Branca) is 48 hours in Portugal and returned with the player we wanted, Alvaro Pereira. Li thank you because the President has fulfilled my wishes. "

From about 10 days ago

what the fuck? People reading this and actually thanking this post just shows how mindlessly optimistic people here are...

i've tried to do my best and remain silent on this epic fail that has been a transfer window in the hopes of one day coming here to find out that we signed an actual good player that we actually needed, but with 16 days left, that's just not going to happen.. so I've all but given up on that hope.. and will easily call those three signings average and shows just how far we've fallen.

Looks like you've been :slick:'ed

See, doesn't hurt to have a little optimism!

I feel, Moratti actually believes in Strama and his project. He probably kept his wallet in-check with Bentiez, Gaspa and Raineri. I don't blame him.

Jesus.

I'm gone for a week, I come back and we've signed Cassano, Gargano, and Pereira? Did I miss anyone?

In the airport when I finally had internet access I read that we swapped Cassano for Pazzini and my reaction is :notbad: since Cassano has been a player I wanted to sign since his Roma days. Us not signing him a year and a half ago is one my biggeest :chan: moments.

Then I see that we got 7mil as part of the deal as well? :trollol:

I like Gargano as a player, and to get him on loan with a reasonable buyout fee, I can't really complain. Still would have liked to sign a midfielder who can do something with the ball once they get it, but more protection for our fucked up defense is always good.

And JC might be signing with QPfuckingR?
