I really enjoyed all that rubbish about Modric last summer, especially the idea (I dunno if this was ever proven legit or not) that we lost a chance at getting Vidal, as much of a cunt as he may be, to pursue an impossible and, frankly, ridiculous dream like Modric last summer. Modric who, btw, didn't have a particularly good season this year, not that this was a surefire thing at the time, but someone with his mileage, his age, and coming off going to a World Cup final (one in which Croatia, essentially, played one more game than anyone else because three 30 minute extra times = 90 extra minutes total) was always a candidate to have a not-that-good season this year anyway. Even if that did happen, Christ, imagine the stick that Ausilio would (rightfully) get had that happened.
The Settlement Agreement fucked us in many ways, but we've also fucked ourselves in many ways as well. Pretty much every transfer acquisition we made has disappointed us in one way or another, and only one of them - Vrsaljko - was it really not his fault.
